This position manages all aspects of OSHA and environmental compliance requirements, company safety programs and injury prevention initiatives.



 



Duties and Responsibilities:                                                   



Coordinate, implement, and manage ongoing EH&S programs to meet and exceed regulatory compliance requirements. Complete facility inspections by performing safety and environmental inspections and developing corrective action plans. Development and training of all employees to ensure that EH&S policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to. Investigate employee incidents, coordinate corrective action measures and manage occupational injury cases. Manage all aspects of company environmental programs. Manages facility drug and alcohol programs. Maintain employee training schedules and all required training documentation. Maintains OSHA 300 Log and required postings.

 



Minimum Job Requirements:                   



Education/Certifications: 




  • Candidates with an Associates Degree in Safety or type of professional safety accreditation are preferred.



Experience:




  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience in safety and environmental management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

  • Must have experience in conducting safety training.

  • Must have a proven history of successful safety program management and implementation



Knowledge/Skills:



Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and utilizing the Internet. Knowledge and understanding of safety principles relating to a manufacturing environment. Understanding of organizational principles and document retention systems. English/Spanish language is preferred. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Must have effective leadership skills Knowledge of GMPs and AIB standards preferred.

 



Abilities:



Ability to work independently with minimal oversight. Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of associates ranging from entry level to management level positions. Ability to manage multiple tasks, often with deadlines. Proficient use of computer and related software. Ability to travel up to 20%. Ability to work any shift and possibly weekends as needed.

 



Supervisory Responsibilities:                                                                                            



This position reports directly to the Director of EHS with indirect reporting to the facility Director of Operations.

 



Working Conditions and Physical Effort:                                                                                            



Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as dirt, dust, fumes, extreme temperatures, humidity, darkness, heights and/or noise. Work environment involves moderate exposure to physical risks, such as working around mechanical, chemical, and electrical hazards. Light physical effort.  Requires standing, sitting, walking, talking, seeing, hearing, fine dexterity, and handling of average-weight objects up to 50 pounds.
