Who is American Canning?

American Canning is a team of energetic individuals with a shared passion for the craft beverage industry. We are based in Austin, TX but take pride in providing aluminum can packaging solutions to craft manufacturers throughout North America in every beverage category.


What is the job?

Reporting to the VP (Vice President) of Sales and Marketing, Account Executives are responsible for using their industry knowledge and sales skills to generate long-term opportunities for American Canning, with a specific focus on selling aluminum can packaging. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in sales and marketing principles, as well as be an excellent communicator with high emotional intelligence. Experience in business development, presentations, negotiations, and contracted sales are a plus.

  • Highly Organized - You use consistent systems to manage your time effectively, prioritize tasks based on their importance and urgency, and meet deadlines.

  • What will you do?

  • Identify new business opportunities and develop strategies for acquiring new accounts.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with potential clients.
  • Accurately identify solutions to meet both the customers and American Cannings needs.
  • Prepare quotes and presentations.
  • Work with customers to create accurate forecasts for sales opportunities.
  • Negotiate pricing and secure contracts.
  • Generate and maintain an active opportunity pipeline using CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software.
  • Respond to client inquiries and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Monitor customer accounts and provide regular reports on account status.
  • Participate in tradeshows, conferences, and meetings to build your business network.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure client satisfaction and success.


  • Requirements

    What is required?

  • 10+ years' experience in a sales prospecting/business development/account executive role.
  • Proven record of experience in the beverage industry (cocktails, wine, cider, beer, cannabis)
  • An existing network of beverage industry clientele.
  • Deep understanding of making data actionable and how to apply strategy in a sales role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of sales and marketing principles.
  • Experience with CRM software, Sales Force preferred.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
