The Sales Account Manager is responsible to implement the corporate sales strategy to grow the sales revenue. The Account Manager must establish and develop a productive and positive long-term relationship with new and existing customers to increase sales by creating opportunities for new products and applications. This position reports to the Head of Sales and interacts with personnel throughout the company.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement strategic sales and account plans to accommodate corporate goals.
  • Generate new business with existing and potential customers.
  • Developing business/sales & marketing plans for new products and customers/prospects.
  • Represent company at product, commercial, and quality meetings.
  • Direct sales forecasting activities and set performance goals accordingly.
  • Review and understand relevant markets to determine customer needs, products, price schedules, competitors' strengths/weaknesses, and opportunities with specific customers/markets.
  • Coordinate customer product changes with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality.
  • Prepare periodic sales reports showing sales volume, potential sales and areas of proposed client base expansion.
  • Participate in the APQP process.
  • Access supplier portal and monitor for RFQ and commercial activity (upload quotes and commercial documents)
  • Enter opportunities and updates in the company CRM system and quote log in a timely manner.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Automotive industry experience a MUST.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills including understanding of product cost and component pricing.
  • Experience in preparing and presenting technical quotations.
  • Experience and success in negotiating complex, performance based contracts.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate complex technical and quality concepts to customers with varying experience levels.
  • Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation abilities.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Power Point); familiar with SAP.
  • Experience in sales of springs or spring components is desirable.
  • Minimum 5 years of sales of a technical product, with an outstanding record of success.
