Job Summary/Overview:
The Electrical Project Manager will plan, bid, execute and supervise residential, commercial and industrial projects ranging in values and scope to meet objectives and to ensure project delivery within budget and on time. Will be experienced in initiating projects, planning delegating, managing and risk mitigating.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Meet with top management, Business Development, Service Managers and customers to identify project requirements, delivery timelines and costs
Capable of understanding construction documents including drawings, standards and specifications
Develop detailed project plans and execute projects to the standards set by Schwickerts Tecta America
Work within hard bid, negotiated, design-build, and construction management type contracts
Ensures all NEC codes, federal, state, county, city regulations are met and permits acquired
Determine the necessary equipment, materials, and manpower needed
Ensure material and equipment are ordered and delivered according to schedule
Research the general market pricing of materials and labor costs, estimated production times and follow the project timetable without compromising the quality and the customers specifications
Monitors project performance to ensure timely delivery
Manage all financial aspects of projects through ongoing job forecasting
Oversee pre-job meetings to ensure successful handoff to the field employees
Identify and assign project tasks based on the skill sets, experience and strengths of staff members
Set clear goals and expectations of Superintendent & Foreman on projects
Conduct site visits to monitor progress and quality standards
Compile and submit project status reports to customers and management
Proficiency in inventory control and process improvement
Negotiate and resolve all customer concerns
When necessary, estimate change orders for projects
Manage all jobs closeout procedures
Conducts post project reviews to determine areas for future improvement
Process customer invoicing promptly, including contract and time & material projects
Approve invoices and material slips
Report all issues with are or may be detrimental to the well-being of the company
Read and comprehend complex instructions, business correspondence and memos.
Capable of writing professional correspondence, effectively present information in one-on-one conversations or group presentations to customers, vendors and/or sub-contractors as well as other employees of the company
Work with other departmental managers and Business Development to meet company and departmental goals and objectives
Promote and develop sales, sales leads and maintenance/service agreements. Coordinate with department Service Managers and Business Development
Other tasks and responsibilities as required to maintain efficient department operations
Requirements / Qualifications:
Experience independently and effectively estimating and project managing in the construction industry is preferred
Two-year degree in related field preferred
Experience with electrical conceptual estimating, common code requirements, negotiated and design/build estimating preferred
Must be familiar with a variety of electrical fields concepts, practices and procedures including the technical ability to understand and interpret Electrical Codes, Life Safety Codes, NFPA, Uniform Building Codes and Lighting Systems where applicable
Working knowledge of project management software tools such as Microsoft Excel and other relevant applications. Good computer skills & knowledge using Word & Outlook
Good sales skills
Excellent leadership skills to enhance team productivity and standards of work produced
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; and strong conflict management skills
Detail oriented and highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments
Ability to work under pressure and make hard decisions required to achieve project objectives
Ability and willingness to work non-standard schedule at times including nights, weekends and holidays as/if required
Have a clean, neat and professional appearance
Clean motor vehicle record and background check
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
