Monarch NC, a provider of high-quality and trauma-informed care for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental illness and substance use disorders, is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Crisis team in Lumberton, NC.

The Crisis Registered Nurse position will oversee paraprofessionals who provide services, as well as, provide direct nursing care to the people we support from the Behavioral Health Division of Monarch. The Nurse will be responsible for carrying out treatment and supportive care as directed by the Nurse Manager, Nurse Supervisor, Lead RN, or Clinical Operations Director and their designees, according to program design and best practices.

WORK SCHEDULE:

  • Night Shift, 7 PM - 7 AM

Responsibilities include:

  • Assess and document individuals' appropriateness for admission, level of functioning, health status, mental status, medical history, medications, medication compliance, and response to treatment.
  • Educate individuals receiving services about mental illness and substance use disorder, participate in the development of treatment plans, crisis plans, and discharge plans.
  • Ensure that people who need a higher level or different level of care are referred or placed.
  • Monitor individuals who are receiving services to ensure health and safety.
  • Carry out functions including crisis intervention, medication administration, assessment of vital signs, referral for emergency medical treatment as necessary, observation of individual response to medication and treatment, following of detoxification protocols, nursing assessment, treatment planning, crisis and aftercare planning, submission of authorizations for treatment.
  • Ensure that physician orders and service definition guidelines for services being provided are followed.
  • Complete all other relevant responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Driving and travel may be required.

Requirements

  • An Associate's Degree in Nursing is required.
  • Must have a current North Carolina RN license.
  • No experience necessary! This is a good opportunity for a newly licensed Registered Nurse.
  • A valid Drivers License is also required.
