BPCM is seeking an experienced candidate for the position of Senior Account Executive, Beauty with a proven ability to successfully manage high profile clients. Candidates must be highly organized and adept at multi-tasking, working in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment, as well as possess strong communication skills.

Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 5 years of previous experience working with large-scale and/or indie beauty and lifestyle brands at a public relations agency. Candidates must also exhibit strong writing and presentation skills, and proficiencies in Powerpoint/deck presentations to effectively articulate ideas to clients, agency principals and colleagues.

Responsibilities will be (but are not limited to):

Musts

  • Manage, track and maintain large budgets
  • Exhibit strong writing, communication and presentation skills
  • Serving as a primary client contact with the proven ability to manage and drive multiple client account programs and teams delivering strategic value
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills; adept at developing rapport with clients to maintain strong working relationships
  • Directly managing day to day activities on multiple accounts across team members
  • Manage and mentor junior team members that report into you
  • Invest heavily in team growth and development
  • Passionate about being a champion for DEI initiatives, both internally and externally

Media Relations

  • Ability to align press initiatives with business goals of brands/clients
  • Expert at maintaining ongoing relationships with members of top-tier media (across multiple media types from fashion/beauty to image titles)
  • Oversees the maintenance of media lists
  • Ensures routine media inquiries and credit information is provided to press in a timely manner
  • Monitors media and reports on client relevant news and trends
  • Identifies creative press opportunities inclusive of features via a deep understanding of the current media landscape
  • Successfully place stories for features, product placement and brand spokespeople in media outlets such as long-lead and short lead media, digital, social channels, done in partnership with supervisors
  • In partnership with Supervisors, leads client strategy development to align with client directed objectives
  • Plan and execute PR events (Product Launches, Celebrity Talent, Deskside Meetings, Store Openings, etc.)
  • Build and maintain a strong understanding of the editorial calendar, current events, pop culture, seasonal and celebrity trends to effectively and proactively contribute to story angle development that is strategic and timely, maximizing brand feature and product placement opportunities across national, regional, online, trade and broadcast outlets
  • Ensure that key milestones and projects are on track, within prescribed timelines and on budget
  • Work with client marketing, retailer and education teams to support and help execute internal initiatives
  • Generate creative ideas and solutions to everyday problems and challenges
  • Proficient in Tribe Analytics, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Cision, Meltwater News etc.

Client Relations

  • Ability to clearly articulate thoughts and communicate effectively with clients in-person and on calls
  • Support and lead external brand partnership opportunities
  • Responds to all appropriate client requests promptly with enthusiasm and accuracy

Reporting

  • Oversee press credit analysis reporting according to client preference
  • Oversee assistants capture of press via Cision, Meltwater news, Google Alerts and other 3rd party services as well as manual reporting

Writing

  • Drafts and contributes to all necessary press releases and client materials that span brand messaging and positioning as directed
  • Creation, maintenance and timely distribution of editorial reports, press clippings and budgetary tracking documents

Team Management/Development

Location: This role is based in our Brooklyn, NY office on a hybrid basis. The BPCM staff is in-office 2 days per week.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $70,000.00- $82,000.00. Actual compensation is based on a range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and location.
