About the Role:

As the Senior Accounting Manager, you will report to the Senior Director of Finance & Accounting / Corporate Controller to achieve departmental goals and contribute to business decision making. This role is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the accounting department with the primary objective of producing timely, accurate and reliable financial information in an efficient and effective manner.

Location/Workplace: This is a hybrid position and candidates must be willing and able to work out of the downtown Denver office 2-3 days/week. We will consider remote candidates with the right experience.

What Youll Do:

Reporting

  • Efficiently lead the month end close process while providing accurate and timely consolidated financial statements and schedules in accordance with US GAAP
  • Analyze financial information and prepare variance analysis for all financial statement classifications monthly
  • Prepare transfer pricing related documentation
  • Other reporting duties as assigned

Treasury Management

  • Review and verify daily bank reconciliation and monitor daily bank activities and balance
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts across four brands
  • Oversee and manage weekly cash flow / credit line availability variance between forecast and actuals
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual bank reporting, including borrowing base and compliance reporting, etc.

Compliance/Audit Management

  • Assess internal controls and compliance by following company practices and procedures and in the areas of responsibility
  • Coordinate and lead the annual external audit
  • Ensure timely and accurate governance tax filing including GST, PST, VAT, state sales tax and periodic income tax installments

Business Optimization

  • Recommend, communicate and monitor internal control procedures
  • Continuously improve processes and systems within the department and provide recommendations for other areas if appropriate
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for corporate accounting including maintaining user support and documentation
  • Support Sr. Director of Accounting/Corporate Controller with special projects and workflow process improvements

Team Management

  • Provide coaching and development of direct reports
  • Maintain weekly one-on-ones with team members
  • Responsible for setting and reviewing quarterly goals and annual performance
  • Ensure teams SOPs are accurate and up to date
  • Lead efforts in improving team productivity
  • Motivate staff, celebrate achievements and ensure a positive work atmosphere is maintained
  • Provide recommendations on staffing requirements and issues
  • Drive process improvements through development of key metrics, implementation of efficient tools and continuing optimization of staff

Requirements

What Were Looking For:

  • 7+ years progressive accounting experience
  • Professional Accounting Designation preferred: CA, CPA, CMA, or CGA
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related; MBA desired
  • At least 5 years of people management experience overseeing and developing staff
  • Strong knowledge and understanding US GAAP
  • Experience with treasury, reporting & audit
  • Advanced MS Excel skills (ex. Macros, power query, dashboards, complex formulas)
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, both oral and written
  • Innovative problem-solving skills and flexible mind-set
  • Detail oriented, highly organized and able to work independently
  • Ability to identify issues / control weaknesses and develop and implement recommendations for resolution
  • Ability to work cross functionally to problem solve
  • CPG Industry experience is desired

The annual base salary range for this full-time position is 120,000 to 140,000 USD/year. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary bonus and long-term incentive. The actual annual base salary offered may be adjusted based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, location, education, skills, training, and experience.
