Rapidly growing company that specializes in the design, installation, and FAA certification of aircraft modifications and aeronautical products. We are seeking highly motivated engineers lead the FAA certification aspects of multiple certification projects through coordination with the FAA, internal groups and outside customers to ensure well planned, efficient and timely aircraft systems implementation, development and FAA certification.

Essential Functions:
  • Develop efficient and accurate certification approaches for 14 CFR part 23/25 aircraft modifications
  • Develop logically defined project documentation structure
  • Develop organized project proposals, project certification plans and project schedules
  • Coordinate with outside customers to understand and meet their expectations consistently
  • Coordinate internal groups to communicate, execute and meet project goals
  • Accurately define aircraft modification compliance requirements in accordance with 14 CFR part 23/25
  • Assist in the preparation and verification of aircraft installations and FAA certification documents
  • Generate conception, layout and detail design of aircraft structural components and systems
  • Prepare timely and accurate manuals, reports, plans and analyses required for FAA aircraft certification projects
  • Conduct component and aircraft ground test activity
  • Participate in experimental flight test activity
  • Reduce, evaluate and logically present test data

  • Accept and complete other job-related duties as assigned

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in aerospace, mechanical or electrical engineering
  • Minimum 8 years working experience in FAA 14 CFR part 23/25 aircraft certification projects
  • Detailed knowledge of FAA regulations applicable to aircraft modification certification efforts
  • Thorough understanding of the FAA STC process
  • Skilled with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Project, Visio and Access)
  • Highly proficient with drafting processes using AutoCAD or SolidWorks to develop efficient and accurate detail design, assembly and installation drawings
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Great teammate who can work in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction
Desirable Qualifications:
  • FAA Systems and Equipment DER authorization potential
  • Minimum 8 years working relationship with the FAA
  • MATLAB, Database Programming
  • Private pilot
  • Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate
