Flux is currently searching for a Senior Architect (Semiconductor) for one of our clients located in Hillsboro, OR(link removed) Our client is a global A/E-EPCM firm with more than 20 offices around the world and projects in more than 30 countries. Projects include program management services from site selection through design, construction, commissioning and start-up, for seamless project delivery.



 



Summary:



Our client is seeking an experienced Architect with a background in industrial facilities. Experience in clean room design is preferred, but not required. Must have familiarity with applicable codes and standards.



 



Primary duties and responsibilities:




  • Perform as a Project/Lead Architect on projects, leading design review and coordination meetings both internally and with the Owner and providing direction and leadership for the project team.

  • Perform architectural code evaluation and design functions including space planning, wall and equipment layouts, exiting requirements and fire protection etc.

  • Interface with multi discipline leads, designers, project management, Owner representatives, General Contractor, subcontractors, and City officials throughout the project design phases to develop a fully integrated, code compliant design solution and coordinated set of construction documents as required.

  • Has knowledge of local, state, and federal building codes, OSHA compliance requirements, and working experience dealing with site planning, civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical systems, methods, and general details.

  • Used knowledge of architectural drafting, detailing, building materials, and construction techniques to finalize project documents for bidding and construction purposes.

  • Responsible for final content of architectural project specification.

  • Perform on-site field verifications during design and construction.

  • Travel required.

  • Valid driver’s license required. May be waived for international assignments.



 



Knowledge, skills, and abilities:




  • Familiarity with applicable Codes & Standards including ability to determine basic ADA and IBC applications and determine compliance for issues related to egress, fire resistive assemblies, occupancy, and building types.

  • Clean room Design experience is preferred, as well as knowledge of the hazardous occupancy IBC and related codes.

  • Ability to problem solve unique conditions and develop details with an emphasis on constructability for retro-fit projects in or near fully operating facilities.

  • Ability to lead a project team and manage workload of multiple projects of varying complexity.

  • Able to review and edit architectural specifications to match project needs.

  • Must demonstrate the ability to communicate, both verbally and written, in a direct, concise and effective manner with diverse groups.

  • Must demonstrate the ability to listen effectively and follow directions and/or requirements provided by project management, the Owner and the design team.

  • Intermediate to excellent computer skills with MS Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel.

  • Revit and AutoCAD proficiency is required, Navisworks proficiency, rendering capability and knowledge of other 3D platforms is a plus.

  • Must demonstrate ability to work in a cost-conscious, customer-focused, team-based environment.
