As a Senior Buyer/Planner, you will be responsible for leading all inventory procurement efforts and demand planning activities in support of internal low volume initial production of our lift truck chargers, including quoting, supplier selection & onboarding, purchase order execution, and supplier relationship management. You will have a role in manufacturing strategy development with respect to supply chain processes, and will continue to have a lead role as we ramp to production volumes. You will collaborate regularly with manufacturing, legal, finance, and engineering for issue resolution, technical support, and supplier relationship management activities. You will play a key role in procurement process development & improvement, as well as selection of future Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) tools. You will initially be responsible for supporting our Mobility vertical through delivery of Alpha, Beta, and Low Volume initial production of our first generation Lift Truck Chargers, and later for supporting future engineering procurement, new product introduction, and transition to production efforts across all business verticals and product lines as needed.

On an average day, youll..

  • Leverage our existing supply base, or identify new supplier partners to obtain quotes, and determine appropriate component source
  • Create purchase justification requests, issue purchase orders (POs), and track & communicate PO status to key stakeholders
  • Monitor, report, and improve component cost and lead time by partnering with engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers
  • Create and schedule demand plans for manufacturing to ensure on time completion of customer orders
  • Leverage manufacturing plan to create PO demand plans to ensure on time delivery of material to support build plan
  • Communicate, and drive to resolution, supplier quality issues that impact manufacturing
  • Identify, qualify, negotiate, and contract suppliers and contractors to supply products and services to support the Mobility business vertical.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in the identification of alternative materials, designs, and suppliers; facilitate qualification trials, and conduct supplier management to drive continuous improvement
  • Improve and optimize procurement and supply chain processes
  • Support engineering as needed with expense ordering to support development

Requirements

  • Experience working in a procurement, demand planning, or commodity management role in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with at least one ERP and/or MRP tool
  • Comfortable navigating Product Life Cycle Management (PLM) or Product Data Management (PDM) tools

Preferred Experience

  • Experience implementing or improving through feature enhancements, ERP, MRP, or PLM tools
  • Experience leading supplier contract term and cost negotiations
  • Procurement and/or supply chain experience in electronics, electro-mechanical, power-electronics, or a related field
  • Experience in managing or resolving supplier quality issues
  • Experience working in a remote, distributed environment
