We are currently seeking a senior buyer to play a critical role in our manufacturing operation, by ensuring materials and parts are available in time to meet production schedules, expediting orders to accommodate schedule changes, and proactively communicating with vendors to stay on schedule. As you build relationships with your internal customers and outside vendors, you will collaborate with your partners to find mutually beneficial solutions to our procurement needs.

The Senior Buyer will be responsible for negotiating pricing and terms, analyzing and reporting on purchasing trends, reviewing purchasing requirements, issuing quote requests and purchase orders, and following up on open purchase orders to ensure on time delivery of components in support of our commitments to our customers. As a company that does custom work, you will often collaborate with engineering to engage new or existing vendors in procuring project specific components. By understanding the unique strengths and weaknesses of our vendors, you will play an important part in our commitment in delivering high quality kiosks on a quick timeline.

Here's what a typical day in our purchasing department looks like:

• Source, request quotes, and issue purchase orders for subcontracting/outside processing, raw materials, hardware, shop/office supplies, and other purchases based off of production requirements and due dates
• Track and expedite open orders as necessary to ensure on time delivery in support of our commitments to customers
• Coordinate outbound and inbound deliveries of outside processing parts, raw materials, and purchased components
• Verify receipt of orders and work with vendors to resolve shortages or discrepancies against original purchase order
• Collaborate with vendors to facilitate rework requests, returns, and exchanges in a timely manner
• Build and maintain positive working partnerships with vendors
• Update vendor, product, and subcontracting information in ERP system
• Finding and qualifying new vendors for purchased items
• Negotiate pricing agreements with vendors
• Provide Purchasing support for NPD
• Managing VMI program for fasteners, hardware, and other materials

Work hours are Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., in our Cerritos, CA office. The starting pay range for Senior Buyer is $70,000 to $80,000 per year.

Requirements

Ideal candidates will meet the following minimum requirements:

• Minimum three to five years of related purchasing or planning experience; experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Fluent in English (speaking, reading, and writing); bilingual English/Spanish helpful, but not required
• Able to prioritize work according to production schedules and vendor lead times
• Experience working with an ERP system
• Work well with minimal supervision
• Able to think proactively
• Reliable transportation
