Responsibilities include: Perform kinematic, dynamic, durability, fatigue, and NVH CAE analysis on aerospace, automotive, heavy vehicle, amusement rides, and industrial structures. Perform dynamic and durability studies, correlate CAE models to physical test data, utilize results to predict system performance, and drive engineering design changes in associated mechanical assemblies. Perform optimization analysis for weight savings and performance improvement. Utilize CAE software, including MSC-ADAMS, MSC-Nastran, nCode, and ANSA for analysis. Conduct fatigue-related analyses using different Stress (S-N), Strain (E-N) methods, and crack propagation for calculating damage, fatigue life, and safety factors. Improve accuracy of Finite Element Analysis by developing, valuating, and customizing new simulation tools and procedures for detailed component-level modeling, and by researching new methods of material characterization. Design, develop, and optimize vehicle structures, including performing static, dynamic, and fatigue analyses for chassis, frames, body, interior, and powertrain structures. Perform root cause failure analysis, including thermal, vibration, and fatigue factors. Experience with engine and motor mount design processes and methodology in automotive and off road vehicles. 20% domestic travel.

Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technologies. University coursework must have included: Advanced Finite element analysis, Advanced Multibody dynamics; and Mechanics of deformable bodies.
