Cuberg is looking for a Senior Cathode Scientist to join their team in Silicon Valley and play a key role in the development and commercialization of next-generation lithium metal batteries. As part of Northvolt's Advanced Technology Center, Cuberg is at the forefront of battery technology, delivering generational improvements in energy density and power output. The Senior Cathode Scientist will work closely with a cross-functional team of scientists and engineers to develop high-performance cathode materials for Cuberg's groundbreaking battery technology. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in materials science, electrochemistry, and battery technology, and be highly motivated to drive innovation and make an impact in the renewable energy industry. Responsibilities - Develop novel cathode materials for high-performance lithium metal batteries.
- Conduct materials synthesis and characterization using advanced analytical techniques.
- Design and execute experiments to optimize battery performance and durability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate cathode materials into battery systems.
- Write technical reports and present findings to internal and external stakeholders.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in battery materials and contribute to patent applications.
- Take ownership of projects and drive them from conception to commercialization.
Requirements - Ph.D. in Materials Science, Chemistry, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in lithium-ion or lithium metal battery development.
- Strong background in cathode materials synthesis and characterization.
- Experience with advanced analytical techniques such as XRD, SEM, TEM, and Raman spectroscopy.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Track record of developing and commercializing battery materials or devices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Benefits The San Francisco / Bay Area cash compensation (base + bonus) range for this full-time position is $127,000 - $157,000 + equity + benefits. - Generous stock options
