THE OPPORTUNITY
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer and Project Manager with 10 or more years of experience in water resources and stormwater-related planning and design work from their Austin, Round Rock, Houston, or San Antonio Office.
The role for this position will primarily focus on hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and design for riverine flooding, urban localized flooding, transportation drainage, stream restoration, low impact development, dams, and reservoirs with opportunities to work on all project phases from project management to leading master planning studies, plan design and construction management, construction plan reviews, technical manual updates and code development reviews for governmental agencies including municipalities, river authorities, counties, water control improvement districts, DOT, and others.
The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to manage, lead and develop junior engineer staff with project management, and task-level management; assist with the development, training and while expanding the water resources/stormwater discipline practice across the company; and have the opportunity to work within multiple regions of in the State of Texas.

Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
10 or more years of experience in hydrologic and hydraulic studies, design and plan production for urban drainage and flood control projects
Texas PE license or the ability to obtain a Texas PE license within 6 months of hire
3 or more years of experience in project management and client service
3 or more years of experience in managing and mentoring junior staff
Proficiency with HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS (steady- and unsteady-state)
Knowledge of local, county and state agency submittal process
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to convey engineering information concisely to technical and non-technical audiences
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's in water resources
Working knowledge and experience with Innovyze ICM, XPStorm, StormCAD, CivilStorm Drainage tools, EPA-SWMM
Proficiency in both AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microstation Geopak
Familiarity Microstation Subsurface Utility Design and Analysis (SUDA)
Certified Floodplain Manager
Preferred candidates will have experience with:
FEMA floodplain studies, FEMA Letter of Map Revision preparation and submittals, USACE Nationwide and Individual Permit processes, recommendation and updates to municipal stormwater manuals and development code requirements
Stormwater city and regional master planning
Experience with preparation and development of drainage studies, stormwater utility fee programs, MS4 programs, and capital improvement programming
Flood early warning and emergency response projects including flood damage assessments, and other emergency preparedness, response, and recovery activities
Knowledge and experience with the preparation and administration of grant proposals and applications as related to FEMA/TDEM Disaster Grants, CDBG, GLO, TWDB, and other programs.
