This role will work within the Data Insights team to provide analysis that answers questions and identifies opportunities across our business. The right candidate will have strong data analysis skills and will also be able to prioritize long-term and short-term data projects with some guidance. In addition, they will have experience in, or an interest in learning about, commercial real estate. The work will make an impact on many areas of the business including Leasing, Marketing, and Investments to name a few. The role will have the potential to determine new ways for the company to capture, structure, and use data to drive business decisions. This position will require an in-office schedule of 3 days a week, so we are considering local candidates only at this time

This role will report to the Associate Director of Data Insights.

Responsibilities

• Gain a deep understanding of Placer.AI, SitesUSA, and other tools that examine foot traffic, demographics, and other metrics across shopping centers
• Use SQL, R and/or Python to provide analysis requested by Investments, Leasing, Marketing, and Field teams (such as acquisition research, demographic fit analysis for target tenants, marketing ROI calculations)
• Create data stories for Marketing pieces and Leasing presentations using various external and internal datasets
• Learn our internal datasets and data tools and make recommendations for improvement
• Explore our internal datasets to look for trends and opportunities across categories (ex. CAM expenses, tenant sales, tenant rents, construction costs, etc.)
• Analyze the strength and quality of potential and existing 3rd party data providers
• Connect with peers across the company to understand their work and project requests as they relate to Data Insights

Requirements

• College degree required, degree in an analytical field (Math, Economics, Finance, etc.) preferred
• 2-5 years of experience in a quantitative role preferred
• Statistical programming experience (Stata, R, MATLAB, SAS, Python etc.) for analysis and data visualization is a must
• Experience with querying databases using SQL
• Familiarity with mapping visualizations for data (ArcGIS) is a significant plus
• Commercial real estate experience is a plus but not required
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Collaborative and results oriented
• Ability to manage multiple projects
• Curiosity, and desire to laugh and have fun
