This role will be core to Streams success as the business continues to grow by providing great service to its core clients and new clients.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Stream Data Centers is seeking a Senior Data Center Project Development Lead with a minimum of 8 years of experience in commercial/industrial location strategy, site selection, and project development. Specific experience working as an acquisition or development lead on large-scale mission critical facilities will be beneficial to this role. This candidate will work closely with all members of the pre-construction development team and will be responsible for the following:

  • Establishing project development teams and leading project development activities for existing and new data center sites.
  • Representing Stream Data Centers with local cities, utilities, and government agencies and maintaining these relationships through the lifecycle of a campus.
  • Representing the Stream Data Center Development Team as the Campus Lead with prospective tenants.
  • Understanding and enforcing contractual obligations between Stream Data Centers and development partners.
  • Reviewing and delivering campuses against development commitments made in tenant contracts.
  • Negotiating and reviewing development contracts, monitoring change orders, and ensuring that projects are being delivered as planned and budgeted.
  • Leading project meetings, developing meeting notes, and assigning and tracking action items across a multi-disciplinary team following meetings.
  • Participating in project cost control, including maintaining internal records and reviewing pay applications on a monthly basis.
  • Organizing and electronically archiving project files for easy access by the project team.
  • Participating in and applying Stream Data Centers Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) plan.
  • Participating in process improvement efforts and continually building tools, templates, processes and workflows to improve the efficiency of the overall Stream Development Team.
  • Being a team player, maintaining morale within the team and supporting fellow colleagues when help is needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

We are looking for a flexible, detail-oriented team player with the ability to manage multiple tasks, produce quality work, and consistently meet deadlines. The successful candidate will possess:

  • 8+ years of experience as a project development lead, preferably with Data Center, mission critical, or other high tech or industrial project development experience.
  • Strong background in engineering, technical program management, cost management, and ideally with experience negotiating land acquisition and/or development contracts.
  • Bachelors degree in civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering or related field, or experience delivering technical projects and leading technical decision direction.
  • Organized work approach with the ability to adapt and adjust as required to support projects current needs; the ideal candidate should have a passion for organization and enjoy developing and deploying new systems and structures.
  • Comfort in technical discussions with subject matter experts and an ability to translate technical discussions into contracts or development obligations.
  • Desire to seek out and resolve project development and construction issues prior to them manifesting during the design and construction phases.
  • Goal-orientated approach to promptly coordinate and resolve project issues within the project team (including interfacing with designers, engineers, and contractors).
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite as well as Microsoft Teams environment. Additional software knowledge a plus.
