Role Overview:
The Data Scientist at Shifty Eye Games will harness both traditional data science methodologies and advanced AI techniques to analyze game data, inform game development, and enhance player experiences. This role involves a blend of analytics, statistical modeling, and the ability to apply algorithmic insights practically within the gaming context. Collaboration with game developers and designers will be key to translating data into actionable strategies for game improvement and innovation.

Job Position: SENIOR DATA SCIENTIST
Job Location: 232, 1011 9th Ave SE, Calgary, AB T2G 0H7
Job Salary: $45-$50/ hour
Working Hours per week: 35 hours per week
Job Type: Permanent, Full-time


Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with game development teams and implement machine and reinforcement learning techniques to provide data-driven insights for game design and development.
2. Utilize statistical analysis and predictive modeling to understand player behaviors and trends, employing data mining for player segmentation and content personalization, continuously optimizing algorithms for personalized recommendations within the gaming environment.
3. Participate in R&D of Large Language Models (LLMs) for gaming, covering tasks like intelligent NPC dialogues, decision making, AI agent interaction, and mission generation, among other generative AI tasks.
4. Explore cutting-edge technologies in AIGC (Artificial Intelligence Generated Content), leveraging knowledge base retrieval and knowledge enhancement methods to tackle hallucination issues in LLMs, offering tailored technical solutions for real gaming scenarios.


Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field, with a robust understanding of data science principles, and a minimum of 5 years of experience in data mining, algorithm design, or system architecture.
2. Strong proficiency in Python, demonstrated programming skills in Java, SQL or Scala for large-scale data processing and analytics.
3. Proficient in at least one deep learning framework like PyTorch/TensorFlow, with preference for candidates experienced in DeepSpeed.
4. Familiar with machine and reinforcement learning, NLP (with an in-depth understanding of Transformer architecture) or CV, Knowledge Graph and related algorithms.
5. Experience in LLMs application development, including but not limited to Supervised Fine Tuning, Prompt Engineering, Generative Agents, etc., is preferred.
6. Passionate about solving challenging problems, preferring candidates from interdisciplinary backgrounds, and possessing strong logical thinking abilities with advanced AI algorithms implementation experience.
