Job Description

Role & responsibilities:

• Overall responsibility for ensuring proper planning and design of water supply systems in all ULBs.
• Preparation of design criteria and parameters for engineering designs of water supply systems.
• Preparation of procedures, protocols, and formats for data collection and analysis, assessment of existing water supply systems, population projections, water demand assessments, topographical surveys and mapping, project planning, preliminary designs, feasibility studies, detailed designs, preparation of hydraulic models, presentation of model outputs, preparation of design/tender/construction drawings of water supply systems, bills of quantities and cost estimates, technical specifications, detailed project reports.
• Preparation of procedures, protocols, and formats for reviewing survey data, hydraulic designs, works specifications, QAPs, etc. submitted by works contractors.
• Preparation of procedures, protocols, and formats for ensuring design control and change request management for project construction stage.
• Technical appraisal of individual water supply projects and recommendations to client.
• Ensuring design procedures, protocols and formats are followed during design, design review, construction stages.
• Ensuring construction activities are implemented as per approved designs and drawings.
• Technical oversight and review of works of water supply design engineers in PDMC team.

Preferred candidate profile:

• Postgraduate in Civil/ Environmental/ Equivalent Engineering is required.
• Atleast 12 years experience in complete water supply system including intake, water treatment process, pumping station, pumping main feeder / gravity main, distribution network designs, 24x7 continuous pressurized water supply system modelling in DMAs and construction.
• Proficiency in all advanced water related Softwares (Water Gems).
