Job Description:

As part of strategy to design and implement an industry leading Credit and Underwriting Solutions, Morgan Stanley Global Banking Technology team is looking for a hands-on Java Development Lead to join our technologically advanced team, focusing on innovation and help lead & build onto our next generation of Lending platforms. Business is heavily invested in growing our Mortgage business and having an efficient underwriting system is a key to supporting such business growth. Candidate must have significant expertise in leading design and development of core Java applications as well as multi-tiered Java EE-style applications. Candidate should be fluent in related technologies including Spring, databases, database interface layers, web protocols and standards, web browser display technologies (React, Angular, etc) and associated Java development tools. To be successful, the role will require the individual to understand the banking technology landscape, and to offer creative solutions that integrate current capabilities, vendor capabilities, proprietary system builds, and the ability to adapt to changing business requirements.



Job Functions/Duties and Responsibilities:

 *The candidate will be required to lead, design & develop into the Lending Platform and specifically Mortgage Underwriting System

 *The candidate will need to communicate effectively across Business Users and stakeholders (primarily in NA) and various IT teams across different geographic locations and drive technical strategy and solutions.

 *Responsible for creating prototype and turn those prototype into working products

 *Lead Agile Teams; Participate and when needed drive Scrum Calls; Take ownership & drive across all aspects of product development: Analysis, Design, Coding, Testing, Debugging & Implementation

Skills Required:

12+ years of hands on experience in java and related technologies

 *Core Java (preferably 1.8)

 *Java EE

 *Design Patterns

 *Spring (core, aspect, boot & batch)

 *Web Services (XML,JSON, REST, SOAP, micro services, Tomcat)

 *Understanding or RDBMS (preferably with DB2)

 *Database interface layers

 *UI Technologies (JS, Angular, React, Typescript)

 *Concurrency

 *Experiencing working with Business Stakeholders

 *Experience leading and working with global development teams

 *Excellent communication, organizational, and planning skills

 *Understanding of requirements of large enterprise applications (security, entitlements, etc.)Skills Desired:
