SUMMARY: The Director of Hospitality and DTC is responsible for the strategic planning as well as the management and execution of all activities related to Hospitality and DTC. Joseph Phelps Hospitality and DTC, through interaction and events at the Home Ranch, Phelps Preferred Wine Club, and eCommerce, strive to go beyond sales and education and to build lasting relationships. It is our goal to provide to our all our guests unique experiences with engagement and access to the wines of Joseph Phelps.

The Director of Hospitality and DTC will be accountable to continue the growth of our DTC business ensuring all DTC channels deliver a luxury brand experience, while simultaneously achieving monthly sales targets and customer acquisition goals.

The Director of Hospitality and DTC is a member of the Phelps Senior Leadership Team, working together to develop the annual and long-term strategic business plans for Joseph Phelps Vineyards. The position reports directly to the Executive Chairman of Joseph Phelps Vineyards.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure all work is aligned with overall brand and campaign plans, product segmentation, and marketing and content insights.

Maximize advertising, messaging, and promotions of all Hospitality and DTC activities: wine tastings, wine club, private events.

Manage the Hospitality and DTC budgets to deliver the overall strategy including, managing costs and hitting sales and net revenue targets.

Redesign current organization to optimize omnichannel synergies.

Lead the team to build an environment of mutual trust, respect and cooperation.

Lead retention, promotion, and CRM strategies to drive engagement, increased customer return rate and repeat purchases. Ensure that all guest data is entered into the CRM data base.

Hospitality

Partner on the strategic and tactical planning for transforming our Home Ranch.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with consumers, key accounts and industry partners.

Engage and mobilize Moet Hennessy sales partners to communicate brand strategy, vision, sales tactics, as well as drive enthusiasm for the brand.

Phelps Preferred Club

Develop customer acquisition strategies to drive awareness, traffic, conversion and revenue growth.

Develop innovative approaches to offering Club members unique activities and experiences which allow them to engage directly in the broad world of grape growing, winemaking and farming.

E-Commerce

Produce and analyze data for all areas of the business including Sales, Social KPIs, email campaigns, to effectively measure and benchmark DTC performance.

Customer Service Manager

Inventory Manager

eCommerce Manager

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE:

Bachelors degree in hospitality management or business is a plus. Masters degree preferred.

Knowledgeable and keeps a current perspective on global trends, systems, practices, and equipment in food, wine, and luxury experiences.

Ten or more years of previous related experience at a managerial level.

Sommelier certification highly desired.

Highly energetic, strategic, visible, front facing, and innovative leader.

Strong entrepreneurial spirit.

Proven track record and desire to exceed guest expectations in a luxury environment.

Commitment to excellence and high standards.

Expanded knowledge of wines and wine production, preferably with previous extensive high end/luxury restaurant/trade experience and/or experience as a sommelier or wine director.

Passion for wine and the wine industry.

High level of proficiency with MS Office programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Commerce 7 and TOCK experience a plus.

Ability to resolve conflicts in a mature, calm, and professional manner.

Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills. Strong planning skills, strong mentoring skills and excellent ability to delegate tasks and responsibilities.

Ability to manage priorities and workflow.

Professional appearance and demeanor.

Salary Range: $175k- $185k + 20% Target Bonus
