This position is located about 100 miles east of Pittsburgh.


Responsible for strategic manufacturing leadership of the Absorbent Hygiene group of businesses. Collaborates with the key business unit partners to drive actions that have a favorable impact on the P&L while focusing on long-term growth. Drives a mindset of safety, quality, accountability and continuous improvement. Fosters an environment valuing world-class manufacturing, change management, new business development, cost optimization, and a continuous improvement culture.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Overall responsibility for Manufacturing activities across the division
  • Direct responsibility for all manufacturing functions including production, planning, logistics, engineering, and safety
  • Create and implement best practice manufacturing vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve business performance
  • Ensure that manufacturing strategies and processes are in place to meet business objectives and operational needs in terms of price, quality and delivery targets and which enables the company to function and compete effectively in the market
  • Evaluate the challenges faced by the business and take action to mitigate risks and develop opportunities
  • Contribute to overall business strategy and annual budget process
  • Serve as a key contributor to the Absorbent Hygiene Group Divisional Business Unit
  • Directs, inspires and holds leaders accountable to ensure engagement of all functional areas to develop a strategic plan, drive business performance and deliver results
  • Sustain, maintain and build on company culture that engages all team members that deliver results that delivers outstanding products and services that delight both customers the end consumers
  • Enhance standards, processes and procedures to ensure consistent, high quality products and build a continuous improvement mindset
  • Responsible for long term plans for all AbHy facilities including equipment, materials, technology, and workforce resources.
  • Maintain a safe work environment, improve safety systems and eliminate the causes of accidents, and hold everyone accountable for their role in safety
  • Establishes quantitative and qualitative metrics, guidelines, and standards by which the business efficiency and effectiveness can be evaluated; identifies and drives opportunities for improvement.
  • Follow necessary requirements and ensures compliance with state and federal regulations regarding all business components
  • Manages the operations in line with business growth by ensuring the introduction of new equipment and systems meet safety, quality, cost, consumer, customer, and security requirements
  • Achieve budget commitments; controlling efficiencies, yields, and manufacturing expenses
  • Drive recruiting, training and retention efforts in collaborations with Human Resources to ensure training, employee development, and work systems enabling all employees to maximize their contribution to business success and contribute to productivity efforts
  • Champion ongoing Succession Planning to support the growth of our team members
  • Implement quality improvement and cost reduction programs ensuring continuous improvement in key metrics
  • Consults with and supports sales and product development resources, particularly on new or improved products, to ensure customer and consumer requirements are met or exceeded


Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field preferred, MBA desired
  • 10+ years minimum experience in an Operations management role within a hygiene manufacturing environment
  • Proficient with quality and process improvement tools and techniques such as SPC/SQC, Lean Manufacturing, TPM, and Six Sigma
  • Leadership in a high-speed consumer product manufacturing a must with expert-level knowledge of sector technology and processes
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high performance and cross functional work teams
  • Ability to set up a structure in Operations to handle the needs of the company current state and future state
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced technical, business, and managerial skills
  • Advanced human relations and interpersonal skills
  • Advanced analytics, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Great level of adaptability
