Location

Infleqtion has 6 office locations, operating out of Austin, TX; Boulder/Louisville, CO; Madison, WI; Chicago, IL; London, UK; and Melbourne, AU. This position is a full-time, hybrid position which will be located in our Austin, Texas or Louisville, Colorado offices.

Position Summary

Infleqtion is seeking an exceptional and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer with significant Embedded Systems Engineering experience to support product development, delivery, and volume ramp of new products. Reporting to the Sr Director of Product Development, the Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for leading design and development of electronic systems and subsystems for Infleqtions quantum products. In this role, the selected candidate will collaborate with researchers, other engineers, and manufacturing to bring Infleqtions disruptive quantum technologies to market. The individual in this role has significant opportunity to influence Infleqtions product development and to further Infleqtions leadership in quantum technologies.

Job Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities outlined below include essential functions of the role. Depending on business needs, this role may perform a combination of some or all of the following duties. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned.

  • Electronics and microsystems design, test, and verification, including digital, mixed-signal, and analog electronics from DC to RF frequencies
  • Translating product requirements into electronic and microsystems architecture and designs
  • Execution of modelling, simulation, and analytical efforts required to enable product performance
  • Integration of electronics subsystems with mechanical, optical, and other subsystems
  • Programming of firmware and embedded system control software
  • Identifying and engaging key suppliers
  • Following Infleqtions Product Lifecycle Process and supporting Phase gate reviews, critical design reviews, and executive updates
  • Supporting development of risk management plans and risk resolution, and supporting reliability analysis and continuous improvement
  • Coaching and mentoring junior engineers
  • Other duties as assigned or required

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Bachelors degree is required, with a focus in electrical engineering, electrical and computer engineering, electro-optical engineering, RF engineering, or embedded systems engineering
  • 8+ years of relevant and progressive experience in a similar role
  • Experience with product development, new product introduction, and Product Life Cycle processes, preferably with mid to high volume commercial products
  • Demonstrated ability to work and communicate with all levels of an organization; Professional-level communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work comfortably in a highly collaborative, cross-functional, team-oriented, and matrixed environment
  • Desire and demonstrated ability to thrive and produce results in a fluid, dynamic, and fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new and complex topics quickly
  • Resourceful problem-solver who collaboratively identifies effective paths forward with demonstrated expertise in executing productization efforts
  • Passion for solving complex problems and challenges in a highly technical and scientific environment
  • Ability to travel domestically and (potentially) internationally up to 10%

Desired Qualifications

  • Masters or PhD degree in electrical engineering, electrical and computer engineering, electro-optical engineering, RF engineering, or embedded systems engineering
  • Familiarity with electro-optical design and integrated photonics
  • Experience in hardware DFx (Design for cost, manufacturing, assembly, test, sustainment)
  • Experience in delivering new, advanced technologies to commercial markets
  • Experience working with complex systems that integrate hardware, firmware, and software. Knowledge of best practices in software engineering is a plus
  • Knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) is a plus

Benefits

The salary range for this role is $120,000 - $160,000.
