Job Title: Senior Electrical Studies Project Engineer

Job Duties:
Perform Engineering Design and Oversight.
Manage small to medium sized, multi-discipline, electrical studies engineering projects.
Perform AC interference analysis and mitigation using CDEGS (including RESAP, MALZ, and HIFREQ) and WinIGS software.
Perform ground grid studies using CDEGS and WinIGS software.
Perform transient analysis in PSCAD or ATP-EMTP.
Coordinate with client technical contacts and third-parties providing field or engineering support.
Produce cost estimates and project schedules, and manage the coordination of the project deliverables.
Review and extract data from drawings or substations, transmission lines, railroads, and pipelines.
Perform complex research and develop recommendations for induction mitigation, equipment and materials selection.
Analyze complex power system impacts on adjacent facilities including pipelines and railroads and design specific methods to limit impacts.
Specify testing methods to gather information required to analyze substation and transmission line impacts on other facilities and validate performance of designs.
Assist the Project Manager in developing strategy for technical execution of small to medium sized projects.
Understand and manage assigned budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
Coordinate with the Project Manager to develop the supporting documentation for the work scope variance approval by the client.
Review engineering work and assignments across multiple disciplines.
Provide proposal support including developing of work plan documents, project budgets and schedules.
Manage and mentor junior staff during projects, site visits, and client meetings.

Education Required: Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, or closely related field. Foreign degree accepted.

Experience Required: 8 years’ experience as an Electrical Engineer.

Special Requirements:
The applicable 8 years’ experience must be in utility electrical engineering field.
Demonstrable knowledge of and prior experience in
Managing small to medium sized, multi-discipline, engineering projects.
Using CDEGS (including RESAP, MALZ, and HIFREQ), WinIGS, ATP-EMTP, and PSCAD software.
Reviewing, and extracting data from drawings for substations, transmission lines, railroads, and pipelines.
AC interference analysis and mitigation design for both pipeline ad railroad systems.
Reviewing and interpreting ground grid studies, using CDEGS and WinIGS.
Performing transient analysis in PSCAD or ATP-EMTP.

Travel Requirements: Travel domestically to field sites up to 3 times per month for periods up to 7 days each trip.

Work Hours: Full time, 40 hours/week. Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 pm.
