Salary: Up to $105,00/Annualized, commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.

Job Summary

Essential Functions

Automate and accelerate delivery processes, release management, and deployment of applications while maintaining the continuous integration pipeline with on premise or cloud hosted environments. Design and facilitate the provisioning, support, and perpetual improvement of DevOps and GitOps solutions adhering to agile project management practices throughout the product lifecycle, and ensure alignment with the overall University Technology Solutions strategy. Streamline the software development lifecycle to improve developer productivity, delivery speed, and code quality. Work closely with Applications Development, Infrastructure and Service Operations, Cybersecurity Operations, and Maintenance and Support teams of Enterprise Systems.

Core Responsibilities

  • Promote DevOps principles and culture throughout the organization.
  • Provide system administration for Client Endpoint Solutions Engineering IT operations and services, including client virtualization management, configuration, and security tools.
  • Monitor and administer the operations of systems and services supporting client virtualization, utilizing monitoring applications like MECM, Jamf, Intune, Nagios, and Splunk.
  • Assist in recruiting, training, and mentoring staff to maximize their skills, including cross-training for organizational continuity.
  • Maintain frequent communication with management regarding the performance status of services, projects, and operations.
  • Design, develop, implement, maintain, and recommend data-driven strategies, policies, standards, and procedures for endpoint computing management.
  • Recommend and maintain Endpoint Solutions Engineering guidelines outlining allocation and best practices recommendations for endpoint devices.
  • Collaborate with technology business managers to maintain procurement guidelines and recommend university purchases related to endpoint technologies.
  • Establish hardware and software deployment processes and provide training to technology staff on their use.
  • Collaborate with academic departments to document and facilitate service and software needs related to faculty, classroom, and lab computers, technology training, and software requirements.
  • Assist in the creation of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs).
  • Manage projects supporting endpoint technologies.
  • Ensure deployments maintain software compatibility and prevent deployed images and software from reaching end-of-life.
  • Perform development, coding, and scripting, including application packaging, provisioning, and deployment of applications and services related to client virtualization computing management, utilizing PowerShell and other relevant scripting languages.
  • Ensure successful audit and compliance outcomes by identifying problems and implementing solutions.
  • Track endpoint usage statistics and assess statistics by producing reports to provide data for efficient deployment and utilization of computer resources.
  • Monitor the security of endpoint resources, assess risk, and respond to incidents.
  • Recommend endpoint lifecycle replacement for computing hardware replacements and software purchases and maintenance renewals.
  • Manage support queues and ensure responses are professional, consistent, timely, and accurate.
  • Research and recommend new tools and applications for internal use and customer support.
  • Proactively develop and maintain helpful, public, and private knowledge bases, user documentation, training materials/manuals, and self-service materials to address the needs of faculty, staff, and students.

  • Perform on-call emergency support during evenings and weekends on a rotational basis.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet the evolving needs of the technology environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in Information Management or related field.
  • Certified in ITIL v3 or v4 certified.
  • Five years of demonstrated experience with DevOps, GitOps, ITIL, or Agile, PL/SQL product management and release cycles to include:
  • In-Depth knowledge of PL/SQL and enterprise level data migration and upgrade projects.
  • Proven ability to provide leadership to managers, supervisors and professional staff.
  • Strong process management and problem resolution skills.
  • Proven ability to identify and resolve complex technical, operational and organizational problems.
  • Ability to accomplish results by establishing strong partnerships and relationships.
  • Demonstrated independent decision-making and problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree from an accredited institution in Information Management or related field.

Working Conditions

Working Environment:

  • Office Environment.
  • Requires use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer and calculator.
  • After hours and weekend work is required on an occasional basis.

Physical Demands:

  • Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary, if walking and standing are required, only occasionally.

This position will be primarily located:

Hybrid-Occasionally: Primarily works remotely, but may work on campus on an infrequent basis (approximately four days or less per month). Travel and parking expenses are the employees responsibility. Applicants must be adaptable and open to working in both environments.
