What Youll Be Doing:
The Senior Facilities Manager oversees the operations, maintenance, and expansion of Amogys current and future facility infrastructure. Reporting to the Head of Operations, this position plays a critical role in defining Amogys facilities strategy. This position is ideal for a seasoned Facilities Manager who is looking for growth and high-impact opportunities with an early-stage startup.

Responsibilities:

  • Plans and oversees construction, and maintenance of office and laboratory spaces.
  • Conducts property search and manages lease negotiations.
  • Ensures that new facilities and improvements are built on time and on budget.
  • Nurtures and manages vendors and contractors relationships and negotiations.
  • Develops facilities and laboratory preventive maintenance program, including HVAC, fire safety, plumbing and electrical, and other areas as necessary.
  • Ensures that there is a proper program in place for machine and instrument repair and maintenance.
  • Ensures that there is a proper procurement program in place for facility and laboratory parts and equipment, including inventory and decommissioning of equipment.
  • Ensures that office spaces are property furnished, managed, and maintained.
  • Ensures that budget targets are met.
  • Collaborates with the Environmental Health and Safety division to ensure that emergency plans are in place to support safety across the facilities.
  • Collaborates with the Information Technology Manager to ensure that equipment installation is conducted in a way that meets facility standards.
  • Prepares and delivers division reports by the expected deadlines.
  • Keeps abreast of industry trends.

Accountabilities:

Accountabilities will feed annual goals and measurements and will change each year depending on organization goals.

  • Procurement Manager, Plant Engineer and Facilities Manager hired by Q3.
  • Houston Property LOI signed and a project management firm hired and the permitting process starts by Q3.
  • Procurement manager develops and implements a system for tracking inventory and orders, and owns and updates the equipment, consumables and parts budget across R&D and Product Development by Q4.
  • Sustainability framework for facilities defined and implemented by Q4.
  • B74 construction is finalized by 11/4/2022; equipment is installed in B74.
  • Modify studio 120 to accommodate 100kW in B128 by Q4.
  • Convert B74 from 100kW to a 200kW R&D facility on time.
  • Secure a new lease and build out a new office for the tech team by 9/1/22.
  • Develop and implement a ticketing management system by Q4.

Supervision Exercised (if role is people manager or leadership):

  • Train and mentor Facilities team, including office manager, procurement manager, and plant and laboratory engineer, providing managerial support as required by the position.

Requirements

Minimum qualifications we seek:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in managing chemical plant projects, R&D facility development, oil and gas industry related projects or pilot plant projects
  • 10+ years of experience in construction project management
  • Knowledge of chemical engineering equipment and systems to effectively communicate the needs of facility operations
  • Facilities and warehouse management
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Experience:

  • Professional licenses are a plus
