NEXTEP Technology Solutions is seeking a Senior Full Stack Java & JavaScript Web Developer for our one of our oldest and largest global clients in the St. Louis, Missouri Metro area. This is a full-time contract-to-hire position with a great company you'll be proud to represent. Candidate must be able to work on-site initially for one third of the time at the St. Louis Headquarters, the balance will be WFH due to the the current global situation. Candidate must be willing and able to convert to an employee of the client down the road, with full freedom and ability to legally transfer employment.

The Senior Full Stack Java & JavaScript Web Developer will be responsible for implementing and maintaining web application solutions for the client. He or she will be a key member of the team and will be relied on for technical expertise. The ideal candidate will draw upon exemplary analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, deep software development experience, and a passion for creating reliable, maintainable, and secure systems. The candidate should be a self-starter, good at multi-tasking, innovative, creative, able to work productively and independently, work effectively within a fast-paced environment. The candidate should also drive continuous process improvement and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to solve problems and implement new solutions.

Essential Functions:

• Engage with the team leader to understand the product and user requirements. Suggest additional alternative system features and functionality when appropriate.


• Generate appropriate design documents, wireframes and other forms of documentation to clearly represent the solutions being created as requested


• Conduct software analysis, programming, testing and debugging  


• Implement secure, robust, and maintainable system solutions/architectures


• Develop user interfaces for web applications


• Perform unit testing and build test cases to assist the testing team with UAT.


• Provides estimates for planned work.


• Comply with coding standards, source code version control, build & deployment procedures.  


• Effectively leverage tools to facilitate project success, including documenting and managing risks, issues and actions

Skills/Experience:

REQUIRED:

• 8+ years of recent experience developing enterprise web applications in a Java EE environment required


• Solid understanding of object-oriented design and software engineering principles and practices required


• Proficiency with Core Java, Collections, Concurrency/Multi-threading required


• Strong experience developing with core web front-end technologies such as HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS3 is required. 


• Strong experience developing and testing RESTful web services required

DESIRED:

• Experience working with the Spring & Hibernate frameworks is preferable


• Experience building enterprise applications using frameworks such as ReactJS, Angular, or Vue is preferred. OpenUI5 / SAPUI5 or Sencha Ext JS experience is also desirable.


• Experience with microservices development using Spring/Spring Boot or other technology frameworks is preferable


• Ability to effectively interact with Relational and NoSQL (e.g. Oracle or MongoDB) databases is preferable


• Experience working with JMS/Messaging tools like Apache ActiveMQ, Tibco EMS, etc. is preferable


• Experience working with automated unit test frameworks like Junit and Mockito is preferable


• Experience with automating builds, tests, releases and deployments with tools like Jenkins is preferable


• Experience migrating to a containerized applications environment is desirable


• Experience using Hazelcast distributed data structures is desirable.

This is an IMMEDIATE NEED and the client will fill this quickly. NO AGENCIES/FIRMS. Upon conversion, the client provides a great benefits package, including a six-figure base salary, bonus and 5-7 weeks of P.T.O. annually.
