We have a fully remote, contract-to-hire Senior GCP / Java Engineer opening where you will have the opportunity to do new development with modern technologies. Requirements

We're seeking a seasoned Senior Java Engineer with a strong focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to lead our technical team through a major cloud migration effort. As the future technical lead of the team, you'll play a vital role in setting standards and best practices for GCP deployment. Here's what you'll need to thrive in this position:

• A minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in backend Java development within a large enterprise environment, including experience in parallelism, concurrency, logging, exceptions, and SOLID design principles.
• Proficient in Java frameworks, especially Spring and Spring Webflux(link removed)>
• In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with GCP, including Kubernetes (deployments, errors, logging), BigQuery (DDL, DML, permissions), and Load Balancing/Health Checks(link removed)>
• Strong understanding and application of Restful design principles, encompassing HTTP methods, URL naming conventions, and effective error code management.
• Proven experience in designing distributed systems with a focus on high availability, transactions, idempotency, retries, and robust logging, monitoring, and alerting.
• Proficiency in CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions (or equivalent), Docker, and experience in Build, Test, and Security Scanning.
• Expertise in deployment processes, including back-out planning, AB Testing, zero downtime deployments, validation planning, and rapid recovery.
• Active participation in Agile processes, including Iteration Planning, Story grooming, iterative deployments, Value-vs-effort matrix assessments, parallel work streams, pairing, and PR review processes.
• Strong SQL skills, including expertise in partitions, aggregations, DDL migrations, and performance optimizations.
• Nice to have: Familiarity with Python 3.8+, Flask, Airflow, Google Pub/Sub, SFTP, etc.

• Proven experience as a Senior Java Engineer with a focus on GCP.
• Demonstrated ability to set and enforce technical standards.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
