Marsh McLennan is seeking candidates for the following position based in the Johannesburg office:
Senior Insurance Specialist
What can you expect:
You will need to support and provide document production and review in the renewal process to ensure that communication and process flow between Marsh, insurers and clients is timely and consistent from submission to policy issuance. This role includes the gathering, reviewing and analysis of required client information to ensure that materials produced are accurate and meet agreed requirements. The colleague in this role requires an in-depth insurance knowledge. This role is responsible for medium complexity policies and renewals, including multi-layered, quota share programmes and New Business. This includes pre and post binding activities such as document generation to support invoicing, certificate production, endorsements and extensions.

We will rely on you to:
Maintain an understanding of all major classes of Insurance and specialist services that the Company offers to its customers
Maintain a solid understanding of the core aspects of relevant Insurance and related legislation
Lead and/or participate in stakeholder engagement sessions and work in partnership with broker and identified initiatives to improve client experience
Understand the needs and expectations of Marsh external clients and ensure the delivery of quality service to colleagues and client teams
Manage escalated calls, complaints, questions, and queries as necessary
Develop awareness of key stakeholders of the Operations team
Develop insurer relationships at the appropriate level
Ensure timely & accurate processing and production of:
core brokerage tasks as defined in the renewal procedures
client and insurer documentation:
computer system records, data, and filing
current and outstanding documentation follow ups
miscellaneous correspondence
Technical Support/Coaching
Provide assistance to Operations Team Leaders by acting as a point of escalation as required
Identify opportunities for improvement within operational processes and work with colleagues and Operations Services Team Leaders to deliver improvements
Provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) support to business stakeholders and participate in group and business unit lead initiatives
What you need to have:
Minimum of 3+ years previous insurance or financial services experience on Corporate and RM
Intermediate Insurance knowledge, A general knowledge of all bespoke policy wordings and classes of insurance and a basic knowledge of risk financing techniques
Clear and concise oral and written communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (or equivalent) Outlook, Word and Excel
Conversant with the coverage provided by all classes of insurance the team is responsible for
FAIS compliant

Obtained Higher Certificate in Insurance or equivalent Diploma
Strong numerical skills, networking skills, problem solving capabilities and ability to handle difficult negotiations and influence stakeholders
