This person will be leading agile engineering teams supporting technology solutions development for a broad portfolio of products within Consumer Lending, Calculation and Model Risk portfolio. The person is expected to partner with senior product leaders, lead systems architects, and engineering managers to develop product functional and technical strategies.

Ideally this will be a seasoned Leader with experience in planning, design, development and delivery of enterprise systems, handling high volumes of data and computationally intensive workloads. This individual will be part of the team supporting various needs of Risk data analysis, Model life cycle activities like model development, testing, integration, production runs and model performance monitoring. Technologies used are suite of state-of-the-art Quants tools which include tools like Python, R, Spark, Scala, H2O etc. This is an unique opportunity to make a huge impact to Corporate Risk organization as various transformational projects are implemented.

Position Responsibilities and Expected Outcomes

  • Provide vision, set priorities, and manage budgets to implement technology capabilities across Corporate Risk Technology
  • Build a high performing team from a combination of new and existing talent.
  • Actively collaborate with senior business executives in strategic planning efforts and ensure integration of Risk initiatives with enterprise strategies
  • Assist business heads across Risk with ongoing assessment of the current technology capabilities and target state technology capabilities
  • Establish a technology roadmap to build out a best in class technology capabilities to support key Risk strategies and drive execution of the same by collaborating with other technology groups
  • Effectively manage the integration complexity and interdependencies across the enterprise.
  • Lead, operate and respond to real time challenges, given the dynamic nature of the business and technology environment.
  • Be an effective change agent. Identify new and innovative ways to apply technology to solve key challenges.

As an Employee Manager, you are expected to achieve success by leading yourself, your team, and the business. Specifically, you will:

  • Lead your team with integrity and create an environment where your employees feel included, valued, and supported to do work that energizes them.
  • Accomplish management responsibilities which include sourcing and hiring talented employees, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, recognizing and developing employees, identifying and managing risks, and completing daily management tasks.
Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of technology engineering experience
  • 10+ years of leadership and people management experience in a technology environment
  • 5+ years of strategic planning experience
  • 10+ years of application development experience
  • 4+ years of development experience with languages such as Python, Java, Scala, or R
  • 4+ years of experience with Big Data or Hadoop tools such as Spark, Hive, Kafka and Map
  • 3+ years of experience with at least 2 or more consumer loan or consumer banking products or 3+ years with at least 2 or more corporate functions such as risk management, finance, operations, information security, information technology, audit, or legal
Desired Qualifications
  • A Masters degree or higher in computer science or engineering
  • 6+ years of experience with Agile practices
  • 5+ years of experience with systems architecture and design
  • 5+ years of experience with modern software engineering technologies and tool sets
  • 3+ years of risk and finance regulatory reporting experience
  • Ability to articulate a complex problem, design, or build strategy
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate complex material to a diverse audience
Other Desired Qualifications
  • Risk domain experience delivering technology solutions for financial and non-financial risk management
  • Experience delivering enterprise scale reporting and analytical platforms along with experience with Big Data.
  • Ability to effectively drive and lead change in an organization of large size, scale and complexity
  • Demonstrated experience in building, leading, developing and retaining a high performing team of leaders, strong technical experts in a cultural environment that achieves results through team member engagement and satisfaction
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a large portfolio of technology efforts across several major lines of business and effectively partner/influence at the senior executive level
  • Broad experience across multiple areas of technology including one or more of architecture, infrastructure and application development with strong understanding of leading edge as well as legacy and distributed technologies to effectively manage the complex and diverse applications portfolio
  • Highly effective decision-making/critical thinking/problem solving skills with a collaborative and results oriented leadership style
  • Strong commitment to diversity and inclusion
