Job Overview

We are seeking an energetic and motivated Public Relations (PR) senior account executive who is eager to build their PR career and use their media relations, writing and account services skills to create successful earned media campaigns for our clients in life sciences and healthcare.

We are seeking communicators who are passionate about telling meaningful and impactful stories about our clients and their technologies, and can demonstrate past successes with pitching, engaging editors and creatively driving and steering conversations for media visibility.

The ideal person has strong writing skills, knowledge of PR tools for media list creation, analytics and research, and has a collaborative mindset in working with colleagues and clients. The client facing role requires candidates with confidence and the ability to effectively manage various aspects of tactical PR campaigns.

The ideal candidate is someone who brings agency experience, understands healthcare or life sciences and has the motivation and enthusiasm to tackle new challenges and delight clients.

The role works within the PR department but also operates as part of a larger agency team to facilitate integrated client marketing communications campaigns.

Ideally we're looking for a candidate in or near the Chicago or San Diego area but open to other locations across the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Develop a strong relationship with client contact(s); act as a strong team collaborator.
• Develop, coordinate and execute earned media outreach programs including announcements, events, speaking opportunities, awards and content creation.
• Demonstrate strategic and tactical knowledge of marketing communications programs and contribute to creation of communications programs to meet client objectives.
• Application of key client information, including general business strategy, competitive industry trends and issues, competitive intelligence and stakeholder engagement.
• Demonstrate practical understanding of digital landscape and social media and how to incorporate into client programs.
• Proven ability to write a variety of materials including messaging, press releases, media pitches, by-lined articles and persuasive client communications.
• Develop tactical communications plans for clients, as needed.
• Create monthly and quarterly PR reports.
• Work with agencys integrated teams when appropriate.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelors Degree in communications, marketing or science field and minimum 3 years of professional communications experience in an agency or fast-paced environment.
