The Senior Paralegal will play a critical role in our legal and compliance teams, supporting the activities related to construction and federal contracts. This role will require specialized knowledge of the construction industry, federal contract compliance, and associated legal procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Document Management and Drafting
  • Draft, review, and modify a variety of contractual instruments including but not limited to construction contracts, subcontract agreements, federal contracts, and related documents.
  • Assist with the preparation and review of bid proposals, particularly from a compliance perspective.
  • Organize and maintain contract files and ensure all contracts are properly documented and stored.
  • Research & Compliance
    • Conduct legal research on federal and state regulations pertaining to construction and government contracts.
    • Monitor changes in legislation and regulations that may affect the company's operations.
    • Assist in ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulatory requirements in the construction and federal contracts sphere.
  • Litigation Support
    • Gather and organize data, documents, and records for potential legal actions or contract disputes.
    • Liaise with outside counsel, when necessary, providing all necessary documentation and understanding of the company's position.
  • Bid, Negotiations & Tender Support
    • Negotiate with our customers any requested edits to agreements on terms and conditions, including but not limited to edits that require large risk or are not material.
    • Ensure that bids and tenders for federal contracts are compliant with legal requirements.
    • Advise on legal risks and considerations in various business deals and projects.
  • Internal Consultation
    • Provide internal teams with clear and concise legal guidance related to construction and federal contracts.
    • Coordinate with various departments to ensure contract requirements are understood and followed.
  • Administrative Tasks
    • Maintain a database of company contracts and ensure timely renewals or terminations.
    • Coordinate and communicate with external stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and regulatory agencies

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree required; Paralegal certification from an ABA-approved program preferred.
    • A minimum of seven (7) of paralegal experience, with a significant portion in construction and some experience with federal contracts preferred but not required.
    • Proficiency in contract management software.
    • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and other relevant federal regulations is a strong plus.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with a team but also function independently.
