Skylight is a consumer technology startup based in Los Angeles and San Francisco and is seeking a Sr. Hardware Product Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and executing the development of Skylight's hardware products (link removed) They will drive product innovation and oversee the product development lifecycle, from concept to launch to end of life. This is a key role at a company with a mission to connect loved ones by creating the world's simplest products and services that improve family life.

Our ideal candidate is an entrepreneur at heart and has a deep understanding of consumer hardware trends, both in the consumer electronics category and in home decor and design categories. We are looking for someone who has autonomously owned entire product lifecycles and who thrives in building 0-1 hardware products, features, accessories, and owning entire hardware product roadmaps at scale.

This role will report directly to our President and will work with other product, engineering, marketing, operations, finance, and other leaders across functions to ensure our organization delivers innovative products that increase our addressable market in a meaningful way.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • Deep design experience with hardware designers and
  • 4-7+ years of experience managing hardware product development, preferably in consumer electronics or related industry
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams, including product design, engineering, and manufacturing
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage budgets, timelines, and stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to use data to drive decision-making
  • Passion for technology, innovation, and building toward a mission of connecting loved ones

Responsibilities

  • Manage Skylight's product development roadmap from ideation to launch
  • Define and prioritize product roadmaps and backlogs
  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products on time, on budget, and to customer satisfaction
  • Communicate with senior leadership and stakeholders to capture requirements and manage expectations
  • Develop a deep understanding of customer needs and market trends (both in consumer electronics and home decor)
  • Define product metrics and measure product success
  • Manage and track budgets and timelines

For Colorado-based candidates, the range being offered for this role is $120K-180K based on experience and for California-based candidates, the range being offered for this role is $140-$200K based on experience.
