Duties and Responsibilities




  • Primary responsibility is to further develop and maintain a company- wide quality system using appropriate process flow mapping, documentation, record keeping, and measurement.

  • Manage the effectiveness of the company’s Internal Audit System Team. Oversee implementation of improvements.

  • Ensures processes for the QMS are established, implemented, maintained and effective.

  • Maintains close working relationship with management team and peers projecting an image of support to create and foster a highly engaged team environment.

  • Promotes and uses the elements of QMS by being familiar with its philosophy and disciplines. This position also has the responsibility and authority to prevent the occurrence of product non-conformity.

  • Knowledge of the aerospace or automotive process approach to auditing, including risk based thinking.

  • Applicable customer and organization specifics requirements, as applicable for ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 requirements related to the scope of the system, applicable manufacturing process(es), including DFMEA/PFMEA, control plans and applicable core tool requirements.

  • Leads, plans, conducts product, process and systems audits. Prepare audit reports, and close out audit findings through verification.

  • Responsible to ensure customer requirements are met. Responsible for setting and executing key performance indicators for QMS and related training to employees.

  • Responsible for customer score cards and customer portals to ensure customer requirements and information is communicated and implemented effectively, when required.



Position Requirements




  • Preferred 7 – 10 years of Engineering or Quality experience preferably in high technology, manufacturing process environments.

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Physics or Quality Engineering. Master’s Degree or MBA preferred.

  • Thorough understanding of problem solving methods – i.e. Six Sigma, 8D, root cause analysis, and associated statistical tools to analyze problems, evaluate and complete improvement projects.

  • Familiarity with defect prevention plans, and process variation reduction concepts and tool sets.

  • Ability to work with a cross functional team and lead projects with non-technical staff

  • Open minded, collaborative, self-starter with change agent mentality

  • Experience handling multiple projects simultaneously, managing urgent and important priorities.

  • Familiarity and experience with ISO14001, ISO9001, IATF 16949, APQP, along with Quality Systems in automotive, aerospace or medical device fields.

  • Certification in Quality (ASQ), Lean, and Six Sigma methodology highly preferred.

  • Takes ownership, personal sense of urgency and results driven



 



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities




  • Knowledge and use of Continuous Improvement concepts and practices

  • Outstanding organization, analytical and problem solving skills

  • Experience working in a team environment, leading, facilitating teams

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP, Product Data Management, PLM Windchill or equivalent.

  • Experience with Advanced Manufacturing models highly preferred.

  • Knowledge and familiarity with inspection tools and methods and metrology

  • Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, MS Project & Minitab
