The Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Revenue Accountant to oversee revenue accounting by controlling and verifying our revenue transactions.

We are looking for a Senior Revenue Accountant to join our team! Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Senior Revenue Accountant will be responsible for overseeing appropriate revenue recognition each period under ASC606 and will take a leading role in scaling revenue-related processes, systems and workflows that will allow Nitrogen to grow to $100M+ in ARR. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is organized, analytical, collaborative, and a problem solver. Objectives

• Manage Revenue Recognition process
• Responsible for monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue accounting close activities, and deliverables (Recons, revenue reporting, flux)
• Prepare AR Aging and bad debt analysis
• Prepare revenue procedures and help drive compliance with GAAP and ASC 606, especially for subscription revenue in the SaaS organization
• Support external audit requirements related to revenue
• Review and assess the accounting treatment for new customer contracts and products
• Participate in review and recommend revenue engine that will work with Salesforce
• Establish effective relationships and work cross-functionally across the organization
• Review and recommend improvements to key systems and procedures
• Participate in financial reporting, accounting policy, and FP&A discussions
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Manage State Sales Tax Filings
• Assist with tax audits and tax returns
• Contribute to department goal setting
• Participate in other GAAP research projects assigned.

Requirements

• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience in the corporate revenue accounting role, ideally public/private industry mix
• Experience working for a fast-paced SaaS technology business
• Experience working with a payment processor (e.g. Stripe, Square, Paypal, etc.)
• Must Have: Up-to-date knowledge in ASC 606 to review and interpret contracts
• Experience with data mining and troubleshooting data feeds and/or reconciling transactional data at volume
• In-depth understanding of GAAP and reporting standards
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
• Hands-on experience with accounting software, preferably Sage Intacct or Salesforce Billing
• Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, detail oriented with emphasis on accuracy
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• BS degree in Accounting or Finance
• Team player with a positive attitude and open mindset who is excited to build from the ground up
• Relevant certification preferred (CMA or CPA)
• International experience is a plus

The expected compensation range for this position is $100k - $120k.

Lesser experience may result in lower compensation and greater experience may result in greater compensation than the stated range.
