AppLovin Corporation seeks Senior SRE Database Engineer in Palo Alto, CA:

Job Duties: Ensure the availability, integrity, and performance of databases on-premise and on public cloud servers. Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to facilitate schema changes, migrations, and other database technical projects. Create and optimize the data models for databases. Develop and maintain shared software tools used by SRE teams. Measure SLIs and take necessary action to make systems meet organizational SLOs (Service-Level Objectives). Champion internal process improvements and automations to reduce toil and improve operational health. Provide input to help other Engineering teams design reliable and maintainable systems. Telecommuting and remote employment permitted. Salary: $225,000 to $258,750.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field followed by five (5) years of progressive post-baccalaureate work experience in the job offered or in a database/development engineer-related position.

Special Skill Requirements: at least one (1) year of experience in each of the following skills: (1) Setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting MySQL and Redis databases on Production, Staging and development environments; (2) Database design, optimization, database migration, replication, and scaling; (3) Enhance indexing, query optimization, and data modeling on tables; (4) Backup methods such as full backups, incremental backups, and recovery techniques such as point-in-time recovery or disaster recovery; (5) Scripting and Programming using bash and python; (6) Deployment of cloud resources using Infrastructure as Code such as terraform; (7) Monitoring and alerting resources using Prometheus, Grafana and PagerDuty; (8) Troubleshooting Unix/Linux systems and IP networking (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, tcpdump, and SSL/TLS); (9) Security best practices, such as access control, encryption, and vulnerability management and database audits; (10) Configuration management tools, such as Ansible or Puppet to manage infrastructure as code and ensure consistency and repeatability of deployments.
