Senior Scientist (Remote)

Who we need:

Kepro is looking for a data driven, talented and motivated Sr. Research Scientist to join our growing team of health intelligence professionals. The successful candidate will be someone who is able to deep dive into medical data to include claims, EHRs, utilization and case management data to design deep-dive analyses and focus studies. The primary focus of this role will be to develop data rich analyses and recommendations that will help to identify and provide solutions to various healthcare challenges.

What youll do:

  • Lead cross-functional projects using quantitative analysis and advanced data modeling
  • Apply health services research methodologies to support client goals and objectives
  • Conduct investigative work, collecting and analyzing data, applying the science of epidemiology to enhance the output of clinical decision making tools
  • Provide and support analyses, decisions and recommendations for complex healthcare issues
  • Provide scientific and technical knowledge in evaluating healthcare program quality and efficacy
  • Identify targeted high-need populations and analyze claim data to provide actionable interventions
  • Participate in cooperative project design, identifying areas worthy of study
  • Wrangle large datasets across disparate databases to create data models
  • Assist in the design and production of feedback reports and focus studies
  • Review medical literature to design studies and identify appropriate interventions

What youll need:

Required Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Statistics, Health Services Research, Public Health or related field
  • 5+ years of related experience and demonstrated success in a similar role

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Strong communication skills and ability to convey complex topics to non-technical audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize facts and insights into concrete, actionable recommendations.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using inference, applied statistics and predictive modeling methods
  • Ability to prioritize and deliver on multiple concurrent tasks in a high quality, timely manner
  • Intermediate data science skills

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in quantitative healthcare analysis
  • 5+ years of experience with Python, R, SAS, or similar tools
  • 5+ years of experience in advanced SQL programming
  • 3+ years of experience working with medical claims, documentation and data
