About Reserv

Reserv is an insurtech creating and incubating cutting-edge AI and automation technology to bring efficiency and simplicity to claims. Founded by insurtech veterans with deep experience in SaaS and digital claims, Reserv is venture-backed by Bain Capital and Altai Ventures and began operations in May 2022. Who you are

As a Python engineer in a well-funded seed-stage start-up, you will be defining our growth potential for years to come. Reserv will be depending on you and your team to build a beautiful, powerful product from a user-story driven front-end all the way to a scalable back-end as well as a robust integration layer that allows its customers to connect seamlessly to your product. For this role, we are seeking engineers with strong Python and data engineering skills with a curiosity for systems, a proclivity for end-to-end ownership of features, and an ability to both run independently and collaborate well with fellow engineers and business-side teammates. What we need

• Work with our tech stack: Python, AWS (Lambda, ECS, Docker), Postgres, Ruby on Rails etc.
• Help distill the core interactions a customer of Reserv will need in order to be successful in using our product, from our data science models, our data dashboards, to our core operational software
• Ship code that productizes the work of the analytics team, including proprietary ML algorithms, customer facing dashboards and operational alerts
• Envision and build scalable architecture for our analytics stack, one that allows rapid iteration and deployment of data science solutions as well as elegant access for our customers
• Commit on your first day, and deploy code continuously
• Support developers and data scientists at customer companies
• As we scale our product & engineering teams, collaborate closely with our product ops, design, and sales teams, as well as mentor junior engineers
• Communicate ideas and specifications through detailed, precise writing
• Influence the culture, values, and processes of a growing engineering team
• Enjoy and have fun being creative and thinking outside of the box. You will need to draw on analogous situations youve worked on before, but we are not traversing well-traveled roads. Where were going, we dont need roads!

Requirements

• 6-8 years of experience as an individual contributor with experience using modern analytics and programming languages and data focused back-end frameworks
• Have a strong demonstrated ability to ship high-quality products, both at work and outside of work. We love engineers that build side-projects or contribute to open-source repos
• A passion for building intuitive technology and a thirst for learning
• Able to think through customer requirements and prioritize what is a must-have, nice-to-have, or irrelevant
• Have a strong technical skillset but also the willingness and ability to take over tasks outside your core competency
