Senior Software Engineer

Code in various languages (C/C++); translate business requirements to determine appropriate storage solutions; design, implement, maintain high-performance, scalable storage systems; design hyper-parallel File system for high-speed access to files (NVMe-oF Storage Array); improve metadata performance, bandwidth, IOPs, latency of I/Os; design/implement metadata cache layer above XFS; implement fault tolerance (stack for no service interruption on application side); maintain/develop new features in core underlying HyperOS; execute project in entirety from feature specification, design, implementation, validation with minimal supervision; work with senior storage engineers for design, improvement, deployment of technical/application solutions for business requirements; create documentation (design documents, feature specifications, bug updates); create work plans with verifiable milestones/time estimates; deliver projects within estimates, constructively collaborate with team during design/code reviews; interface with QA to develop effective feature test plans; transfer knowledge to Support team on new features developed; ensure that root-cause analyses are identified/knowledge gained applied for process improvement, benchmark performance; identify/troubleshoot bottlenecks/recruit/maintain diverse engineering talent; present storage architecture to internal/external customers, partners; interface with marketing team to publicize advantages of company’s storage products; and interface with sales team to enable sales of company’s storage products. May travel to various unanticipated worksites throughout the U.S. This is a telecommuting position with remote benefit from anywhere in the U.S. Travel is required.

Job Requirements:

Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering plus 2 years experience. Experience to include designing hyper-parallel File system for high- speed access to files (NVMe-oF Storage Array), improving metadata performance, bandwidth, IOPs, latency of I/Os; designing/implementing metadata cache layer above XFS; implementing fault tolerance (stack for no service interruption on application side); and maintaining/developing new features in core underlying HyperOS. May travel to various unanticipated worksites throughout the U.S. This is a telecommuting position with remote benefit from anywhere in the U.S. Travel is required.
