Senior Specialist-Software Engineer needed by DIRECTV, LLC in El Segundo, CA [and various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.; may work from home] to enhance features on proprietary streaming box that is built on Android TV. Enhance voice features and catalog syndication to better support different applications. Enhance 3rd party catalog syndication to other vendors. Support real time notification to provide new features and other core functionality related to Android TV. Develop or direct software system testing or validation procedures, programming, or documentation. Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Determine system performance standards. Train users to use new or modified equipment. Recommend purchase of equipment to control dust, temperature, or humidity in area of system installation. Specify power supply requirements and configuration. Participate in all ceremonies including PI planning, Sprint planning and daily standups. Maintain, support and enhance the microservice architecture. Engage with partners and vendors to gather requirements to integrate with 3rd parties. Collaborate with teams within the ART and across the program to implement and support features Work in Agile and Scrum. Develop microservices in Java and deploying in AWS. Utilize message systems such as Kafka and Kinesis. Utilize NoSQL storage such as MongoDB and DynamoDB.
REQUIREMENTS: Requires a Bachelors degree, or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science and 3 Years of experience in the job offered or 3 Years of experience in a related occupation working in Agile and Scrum; developing microservices in Java and deploying in AWS; and utilizing messaging systems such as Kafka and Kinesis.
