Summary

The Senior Strategic Business Analyst is responsible for creating organizational efficiencies, improving interdepartmental communications and collaboration as well as continuous improvement. The Senior Strategic Business Analyst provides advanced support, advice and analytical services to operational project managers and other stakeholders related to business optimization efforts. Each Senior Strategic Business Analyst will have a specific work portfolio based on skills sets and needs. The position will be guided in all activities by ACDCs Corporate Values Platform.

Compensation: $70k-$90k per year

Travel/Location: Remote with up to 50% travel/deployment required.

Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities

Reasonable accommodation will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the following essential functions.

  • Support and assist in leading all corporate and program operations on all division projects in addition to general emergency management services as needed.
  • Initiate, develop and drive project plans across the organization. Manage landmark relevant timelines & communication for specific processes & systems maintenance.
  • Lead end-to-end process from initial ideation phase, through completion. Guiding business partners towards achievement of relevant timelines and breakthroughs.
  • Enable fact-based, data informed decision-making, about project execution through visibility of regular status and project KPI reporting.
  • Build strong, high integrity business relationships with key internal and external partners, challenging upwards as well as downwards the status quo.
  • Provide recommendations and guidance with all strategic and business plans to ensure they are followed in relation to project and division work.
  • Manage complex projects or critical portions of projects and ensure all aspects of a project are completed as outlined in the contract scope of work and timeline.
  • Conduct meetings and briefings with clients, prepare and facilitate budgets, proposals, client presentations, develop materials and reporting as needed.
  • When requested, assist division leadership with business development tasks such as responding to requests for proposals and building relationships with external partners based on subject-matter expertise.
  • Maintain currency of and compliance with applicable state and federal policies, procedures, and guidance documents for applicable roles.
  • Conduct needs assessment and gap analysis as it relates to business continuity, efficiency and efficacy of assigned projects and processes.
  • Identifypotential impacts/implications of policy changes to Federal/State/local programs and provide briefings as required.
  • Perform quality control review procedures over work performed by other consultants and over client-provided documents as requested.
  • Serve in a response capacity in a state or local Emergency Operations Center (EOC) as needed.
  • During a disaster, you may be called into the field to support or co-lead relief efforts or assist with organizing responses to support advanced roles in emergency situations and/or activations.
  • Gain experience, train for, and become knowledgeable in all areas of Emergency Management.
  • Maintain/pursue ongoing knowledge, certifications, and subject matter expertise as appropriate.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational skills, time management and attention to detail.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills, including a qualitative and quantitative skill set.

  • Ability to remain flexible and adapt quickly to changes in roles, responsibilities, priorities and projects.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction.

Experience and Education Required

  • 5-7+ years advanced or subject matter expert-level knowledge/experience in project management and business optimization.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience managing small and large-scale projects, business analysis, operations, etc.
  • 5+ years of contract management oversight including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and meeting contract requirements.
  • Advanced level customer service experience.
  • Advanced level project management experience.
  • Bachelors degree in emergency management, business administration, project management or a related field.
  • Equivalency: Professional experience beyond minimum requirements, in a related field may substitute the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.
  • At least 1-year direct team leadership experience or experience leading complex portions of projects teams/tasks, program management or full scope programs.
  • Experience managing multiple projects or complex portions of projects at one time.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel.

Experience and Education Preferred

  • SmartSheet, Salesforce, and/or PowerBi experience strongly desired.
  • Lean Methodology experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of full scope Emergency Management protocols and familiarity with state and local plans, agencies, and funding sources.
  • Business development experience.
  • Proficient with Salesforce.

Applicable Certifications:

  • Certified Emergency Manager (CEM).
  • Project Management Professional Certification (PMP).
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification.

Supervisory Responsibilities

The Senior Strategic Business Analyst may have supervisory responsibilities within projects, but no direct reports on a full-time basis.

Expected Hours of Work

Schedule may vary and require work on evenings and weekends and dependability and punctuality are paramount.

Travel Requirements

  • Up to 50% travel is expected for this position.
  • Must be willing to travel and deploy to client sites for prolonged periods of time.

Physical Demands

  • Mobility required on-site with clients.
  • Sitting or standing for hours at a time.
  • Ability to work at a computer for prolonged periods of time as needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repetitively throughout the day and as needed.

Work Environment

  • Employees may work in an office or home environment or be deployed to the field which may require working outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
  • Work may be on-site with clients ex: EOC, hospital, debris sites or local government buildings.

Additional Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must pass company and any applicable client background check and reference check upon offer of employment.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States is required.
