SPANG is partnering with a company to hire a Senior Systems Engineer(link removed) In this role, you will design and implement control and automation systems for electric utility clients. Responsibilities:

• Generate configuration, user interface, and logic files.
• Produce basic hardware designs for control cabinets using AutoCAD.
• Create test plans based on customer-supplied specifications and information.
• Travel to customer sites to assist in project commissioning.
• Represent our company's automation values: Service, Integrity, Innovation, and Teamwork.
• Perform other assigned tasks.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
• Hardware troubleshooting communication problem-solving skills.
• 3+ years of experience in the utility industry and/or SCADA.
• Knowledge of HMI/SCADA master systems.
• Programming/scripting proficiency in VB6/VBA/SQL/Perl/Python/C or Lua (at least 2 required).
• Knowledge of TCP networking, including IP routing, topologies, and firewalls.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-discipline, attention to detail, teamwork, and results-oriented mindset.
• Ability to share knowledge with other engineers, the sales team, and customers.

Nice to Have:

• Basic relay programming knowledge (SEL, ABB, Basler).
• Minimum one year of project management experience in automation and control, demonstrating skills in planning, scheduling, and project tracking.
• Experience with RTUs, I/O devices, and IEDs in substations.
• Demonstrated knowledge of MODBUS, DNP, and other industrial protocols.
