Role: Senior Systems Security Engineer

Location: Calabasas, CA

Duration: 3 - 6 months Contract To Hire

Summary: Our customer is seeking a Sr. Systems Engineer to build, maintain, and support information systems that supports companies core functions. This role requires a builder.

This position will be engaged in multiple projects in accordance with established direction and standards. The Sr. Systems Engineer carries out all work in accordance with systems engineering standards and program documentation requirements; and, is involved as required with computing architectures such as Windows Server 2012 STD, 2016 and AD Federation Services (OKTA)

DUTIES & PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS

• Build, develop, and maintain Windows based systems engineering organization, including Windows OS technical support, software/systems programming, and related data center activities


• Carries out work in accordance with systems engineering standards and program documentation requirements (runbooks)


• Ownership of the Windows computing environments


• Executes multiple project priorities and provides technical and administrative support as necessary; ensures appropriate management is apprised of operational status of projects


• Communicates critical information to management, users, and staff as necessary


• Ensures stable performance for the computing environment; undertake performance monitoring/analysis, identifies and resolves bottlenecks, resolves problems, and produces performance reports for management; provides business application users and management with a well-tuned Windows server environment

TECHNICAL LEVEL REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering or equivalent


• Microsoft Certification


• 5 to 7 years’ experience in a Windows environment supporting business critical systems.


• In-depth experience with the system design and administration in the following:
  
  
  
  • Windows 2008/2012/2016 Server Operating Systems (including MS clustering technology)
  
  
  • Windows Active Directory (2008/2012/2016) Multiple OU's
  
  
  • Active Directory Federation Services (OKTA)
  
  
  • VMware experience
  
  
  
  


• Firm understanding of Windows security including file system permissions, file sharing, event logging, performance monitoring and disk administration


• Proven track record providing excellent customer service to end users


• Strong communication ability, both verbal and written


• Ability to successfully deal with multiple tasks while under pressure


• Strong oral and written communication skills, ability to interact and communicate with all levels of personnel including senior and executive management in a professional/tactful manner, as well as demonstrated proficiency with general IT productivity tools. Prioritization, attention to detail, time management, and commitment to quality and solution oriented service.
