The role:
Join our team as a senior transportation analyst! In this role, you will support the implementation and application of technical methods and tools to evaluate climate-related considerations in transportation system planning and engineering analysis. You will serve as a critical, agency-wide resource in ensuring transportation models and technical tools comply, support and inform climate-related policies. Apply today!
This position is housed within the Transportation Planning Analysis Unit (TPAU). TPAU provides essential analysis and technical support to inform policy, planning, project development, and system operation activities. A day in the life:
  • Provide technical support, review and guidance on climate-related transportation system planning and engineering analysis.
  • Perform multimodal transportation analysis for corridor studies, transportation system plans, refinement studies and other transportation planning related efforts.
  • Implement and apply travel demand models using modeling software, statistical software, and other appropriate tools.
  • Provide support in the development of climate-related transportation modeling and analysis procedures.
  • Review, research and provide guidance on new methods, data sources, products, and tools for transportation modeling and analysis work.
  • In collaboration with local and state agency partners, implement and apply the VisionEval tool to support policy and plan development.
  • Provide training on climate related transportation modeling and analysis procedures and support related outreach, coordination and collaboration.
  • Hybrid work options available - work in an office environment with occasional limited out-of-state travel required.

Minimum qualifications:
A valid Professional Engineers (PE) license in civil, structural, or transportation-related engineering.
Note: If registered in another state, successful applicants will be required to obtain professional registration in the state of Oregon within six months of hire.

  • Skilled in transportation planning analysis, including developing technical methods and procedures.
  • Experienced in developing, using and maintaining travel demand models and/or other technical tools (e.g., the Highway Capacity Manual, Highway Safety Manual, and simulation models).
  • Experienced in using, manipulating and statistically analyzing transportation, land use, and/or socioeconomic data.
  • Able to collaboratively work in a team, simultaneously work on multiple projects and scope, assign, review and coordinate work for others.
  • Strong customer service and communication skillsincluding the ability to prepare, deliver and share technical deliverables.
