Senior Transportation Engineer, based in the client's Lincolnshire, IL office. This position will provide transportation planning and design services for projects throughout Illinois. The ideal candidate will be a team player and possess an Illinois PE license with at least 10 years but prefer 15 years of experience with an emphasis in transportation design. The successful candidate will work closely with their supervisor, project managers, engineers, and designers.



Primary Responsibilities

·        Perform and review design calculations

·        Perform quantity estimates and cost estimates

·        Compile Specifications

·        Prepare permit applications

·        Coordinate project assignments with engineers and technicians within the project team

·        Perform CADD drafting as needed

·        Maintain project documentation such as calculations, correspondence with the client, meeting minutes, etc.

·        Mentor and train junior engineers

·        Assist in the preparation of written reports and presentations of project findings



 Required Experience

·        Licensed PE in Illinois required

·        Previous experience with Illinois Department of Transportation projects



Desired Skills and Experience

·        Minimum of 10 years prefer 15 yrs of Transportation design experience

·        Experience with Microstation and GeoPak

·        Design knowledge of grading, drainage, geometrics, and standard construction practices

·        Experience with Microsoft Office Products

·        Effective time-management, strong communication, and teamwork skills

·        Knowledge of design codes and standards

·        Good organizational skills

·        Strong work ethic and desire to learn and grow professionally

·        Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
