Senior Jumbo Non-Agency Underwriter – Multiple Openings

As a senior underwriter, you will analyze risk and compliance of residential mortgage loan applications within the scope of agency, private investor and company guidelines. 

Mortgage underwriters are responsible for minimizing the risk exposure of the organization by certifying applications are underwritten in applicable perimeters.

• As a Jumbo Underwriter, you will analyze the risk and compliance of applications in order to issue a final loan decision. Trusted with making the right approvals and denials, your sound decision-making abilities will bring success to you, your team and your borrower.


• Completing a thorough analysis of loan applications to determine compliance with agency, company and investor guidelines and subsequently issuing compliant loan decisions on each application.


• Subsequent review of resubmitted loan applications to analyze requested documents necessary to issue a final loan decision.


• Coach and mentor the loan processing staff on underwriting related guidelines and scenarios

Ideal Candidate Profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.


• Seven-ten (7-10) prior experience underwriting credit and collateral to Agency, FHA, Jumbo Agency/ Non-QM Loans, VA, USDA guidelines.


• Direct Endorsement (DE) or Staff Appraisal Reviewer (SAR) Designation, preferred.


• Prior experience underwriting non-conforming (JUMBO) loan applications to private investor standards, strongly preferred.


• Prior experience underwriting to bond agency standards, strongly preferred.


• Renovation loan product knowledge, preferred.
