Job Title: Senior Usability Designer
Location: Bothell, WA (Onsite)
Duration: Long Term

Job Description:

• We follow a human-centered design process including analysis, exploration, storytelling, concept design, prototyping, concept and usability testing.
• The ideal candidate has strong usability design skills in addition to being comfortable working collaboratively within multidisciplinary team.
• Analysis/research Understanding people, business and societies, framing the problem with a strong focus on user needs and requirements.
• Creation/validation Creating user focused strategies, innovations, solutions and experiences and the user testing and validation of these, considering usability, sustainability and appropriate visual and verbal articulation in line with DLS and Brand guidelines.
• Process/delivery Executing on scope, driving own efficiency, delivering appropriate design quality within budget and project parameters.
• Stakeholder focus Focusing on the customer, collaborating, partnering and co-creating with internal and external stakeholders, with clear and impactful communication and articulation of design decision making
• Team Contributing to effective teamwork, receiving guidance and being a pro-active team
• player, offering a point of view
• As a usability expert you are part of and contribute to the Center of Excellence for Usability.
• Academic background in industrial design, product design or cognitive science/psychology with focus on Human-Computer Interaction or human factors.
• At least 7 years' progressive experience as usability specialist in Healthcare or another safety related field (e.g. aviation, military, automotive).
• Applies creative expertise on higher complexity project or program level with a high level of content specialism to maximize patient and staff experience within your focus area by applying
• your experience of usability methodologies from initial research on user needs to workflow analyses to concept creation to formative evaluations and to summative evaluations.
• Initiates and executes own analysis and research to gain deeper insights as input for solution creation.
• Report on results, draw conclusions and identify and communicate recommendations for re-design and usability requirements to relevant business stakeholders.
• Actively drives effective collaboration through co- create approaches between Design and business
• stakeholders, being able to on board and guide juniors and interns and willingness and ability to travel to customers globally.
• Leads multi-disciplinary or cross-functional project teams.
• Independently scopes and leads larger projects with higher complexity, able to influence direct environment to create enabling conditions for success.
• Follows FDA regulation and usability standards (like IEC 62366-1), understanding of Quality System Regulations (QSR), understanding of Risk Management process, understanding of Agile Product Development.
• Adopts internal Usability guidelines and guardrails that are defined by the Usability Center of Excellence (CoE), as well as contribute to that CoE in knowledge management and stakeholder awareness creation.
