Senior Yanmar 2-4 Stroke (Slow- Medium Speed) Marine Engine Technician to $200k



Overview:

The Senior Service Engineer (Two & Four Stroke Engine Mechanic) will be required to

work independently or as a team leader and be responsible in carrying out maintenance, repair work, troubleshooting, and installation of different types of marine diesel engines and related components in both the shop and field environments.

commensurate with experience. The Senior Service Engineer position will report directly to the President/CEO. 



Qualifications:

20+ years of experience working on European and Asian manufactured 2-stroke (slow

speed) and/or 4-stroke (medium speed) diesel engines including MAN, MAK,

Wartsila, Vasa, Sulzer, Daihatsu, Mitsubishi, Yanmar, Himsen, Mirrlees Blackstone,

Bergen, etc.

• Marine experience preferred, but power plant experience on appropriate engines

will be considered.

• Must be familiar with shafting, gearboxes, CPP Propellers

• Experience on high-speed marine engines will not be considered

• Must be eligible to work in the US

• Must be eligible for TWIC

• Eventual relocation to Tampa Bay area preferred

• Must be willing to travel both domestic and international over 50% of the year.

• Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, and safety procedures.



Requirements:

• Assist in job planning and preparation including the creation of work scopes, parts lists,

and estimating personnel and time requirements for customer bids

• Liaison with operating staff to keep the office updated on the daily progress of ongoing

jobs

• Adapt to work scopes by addressing and correcting complaints including showing

flexibility when changes occur onsite.

• Troubleshooting, overhauling, repairing 2 and/or 4-stroke diesel engines & systems.

• Create comprehensive service reports after job completion which include

documentation of all measurements and activities performed.

• Supervise shop work when not leading field-service

• Train and mentor lower level service technicians on the job

• Promote TMPS service capabilities to existing and potential customers when

opportunities are available

• Supervisor to service mechanics and engineers including responsibilities in hiring,

firing, and participating in quarterly reviews of performance.
