This is an exciting role where the Sensory Panel Leader will be responsible for managing the sensory panels dedicated to MMRs clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Set-up rooms for sensory panel and consumer research training and testing
  • Ensure that all needed testing supplies are available
  • Responsible for storage and serving, including temperature check, labeling, inventory
  • Includes checking inventory vs. project requirement and notifying project lead immediately of any discrepancy
  • Responsible for ensuring product are prepared and served following required protocol for the specific study
  • This includes ensure consistency within and between relevant studies, e.g. product preparation protocols, container types, serving temperature
  • Request samples and commercial products required or source online or from local shops when required following agreed procedure
  • Prepare, label and serve references material used to run the Sensory Panels in collaboration with the Panel Leader
  • Follow protocols if provided / create new protocols as needed and ensure consistency between studies
  • Manage Sensory Panels references materials and other test materials

  • Test execution and proper handling of test products
  • Test facility maintenance ensuring compliance with basic food hygiene standards
  • Ensuring regular upkeep of all facility equipment
  • Clean preparation area before and after used.Immediately report all issues or maintenance needs to line manager with appropriate urgency and help in problem solving
  • Assist in administrative duties, as required, for example: scheduling, updating databases, panelists timesheets
  • Program test questionnaires and troubleshoot issues on Compusense and other relevant software - training will be provided

Requirements

  • Have previous experience within a similar role
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Organizational skills - Ability to establish appropriate courses of action for self to accomplish goals by implementing plans, multi-tasking and prioritizing in a fast pace environment.
  • Decisiveness and Readiness to make decisions, render judgements and take actions.

  • Attention to detail - Tolerance for and the ability to handle accurately sample management, storage, preparation, serving and the details of paperwork and financial information associated with the job
  • Computer skills proficient at using Microsoft tools; knowledge of sensory software, such as Compusense is a plus
  • Food Safety skills general knowledge of basic food safety and food preparation skills preferred; hands-on experience in laboratory or food service environment is ideal
  • Physical fortitude - must be able to lift up to 30lbs, and stand for extended periods of time
