This position is based in a state of the art sensory and consumer research facility in Atlanta. The sensory professional will be joining a multi-disciplined MMR team supporting one of the biggest food and drink company in the world.

Responsibilities include:

Leading this clients sensory projects through completion; from initial briefing to analyzing and reporting data.

Ensuring that the research design, panel session planning, leadership, sensory moderation, panel performance analysis and monitoring, are fulfilling our clients needs and fit their KPIs.

The sensory panel leader will be joining a team of 8 MMR team members who run the research activities at the Consumer Innovation Center. This role is based full-time on-site in Dunwoody, Atlanta GA, with some flexibility to work remotely on non-panel days.

This role also requires working closely with the clients internal sensory team accomplished client management skills are essential. The role will be supported by MMRs global sensory team with over 60 sensory scientists and ongoing training and development opportunities, including MMRs Panel Leader Academy.

Requirements

  • Masters in Sensory, Food Science, Psychology or related field plus 1 year of industry experience/ or Bachelors and ideally 3 years of previous experience.
  • Descriptive panel leadership strong sensory moderation proficiency exhibited by efficient and unbiased facilitation when gaining group consensus for attribute terms/definitions and scaling/scoring products
  • Panel management panelists time and any benefits, adherence to MMRs behavioral standards and providing panelists feedback (with support from MMR HR)
  • Demonstrated skill in supervising a team
  • Sensory expertise - technical sensory research knowledge and experience in a range of sensory analysis methods applied to food and beverage categories
  • Monitor sensory panel performance and organizing training sessions according to panel needs
  • Oversee the Sensory Panel Assistant, and ensure they are fully proficient in the preparation and facilitation of the sensory panels, and management of lab inventory of consumables, references and products
  • Project management skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Analysis, reporting and interpretation of sensory data
  • High level of IT competency (experience in Compusense would be beneficial)
