This is an exciting role where the Sensory Technician / Administration Coordinator will be responsible for supporting test execution for one of MMRs clients, Mars Wrigley. Responsibilities include assisting in all aspects of the GIC operations, including Sensory Panels, Discrimination and Consumer quant and qual projects; preparing test samples, spaces, and related supplies, interacting with a small team, working closely with management to ensure testing is executed timely and flawlessly.
The Sensory Technician / Administration Coordinator will be joining a team of 8 MMR team members who run the research activities at the Consumer Co-Creation Center. This role is based part-time, 4-days per week (Mon-Thurs) on-site in Goose Island, Chicago IL.
Essential Skills
The Sensory Technician / Administration coordinator is responsible for assisting in all aspects of the operations, including executing Sensory Panels, Discrimination Panel, and Consumer quantitative and qualitative projects.
Some of the responsibilities could be:
Assisting with Test set-up:
- Set-up rooms for sensory panel and consumer research training and testing
- Clear all working areas before and after use
- Ensure that all needed testing supplies are available
Test execution:
- Proper handling of test products
- Handle test product labelling using appropriate project design and blinder codes
- Responsible for time keeping of test and samples serving
- Following specific protocols (including temperature control)
Assisting with facility maintenance ensuring compliance with basic food hygiene standards:
- Proper product and material disposal and recycling, following all applicable procedures
- Clean preparation areas before and after use
- Report all issues or maintenance needed to management staff
Administration:
- Check in/out of panelist and consumers
- Administer incentive payments
- Supply inventory control
Requirements
Requirements
- Some experience in a kitchen environment or as a server/waiter/waitress would be beneficial but not required
- Basic experience with lab equipment such as measuring equipment is a plus
- Strong organizational skills
- Attention to detail is paramount
- Ability to effectively communicate in written and spoken English is essential
- A flexible and easily adaptable nature
- Troubleshoot issues with iPads, test questionnaires, and relevant software previous experience with apple products is a plus, training will be provided
